i'm planning on using one of these for the power wire, but can i also use it for the ground wire as well? there's no difference right?

i need to go 0 ga from battery to disti and out to 4 and 8

same thing for ground

i can just buy two of these and it will work, right?

hey, one more question

i was planning on adding a circuit breaker instead of a fuse and was wondering if it's better to buy just one large right-sized breaker before the power disti split, or should i use two appropiately sized breakers (1 per amp) after the disti before the amps? my batteries are right there next to the amps.

If you're batteries are next to the amps, then use a fuseholder (not a circuit breaker) at the battery, then to your dist. blocks.

Or you could just go straight to the amps with only a fuse in the middle and distribute from the battery terminal.

but the whole point to a breaker is to eliminate a fuse holder or fused disti block. i don't have to worry about carrying additional fuses, and i can simply reset it if it trips.

I typically use one Marine rated manual-reset circuit breaker at the battery for a single positive "trunk" line and 2 non-fused blocks, 1 for POS, 1 for GND, at the amps. Your circuit protection should be within 12" of the battery.

^^^ Exactly my same set up and the only way to go for ease if use.

thanks tigemike for the confirmation. i plan on using one 200 amp circuit breaker right near the battery then two non fused disti blocks (one for power and ground) and then break out into the amps. adam turned me on to these in another thread:

http://cgi.ebay.com/CIRCUIT-BREAKER-200-AMP-INLINE-RESET-SELF-TEST-83200_W0QQitemZ110303691657QQihZ001QQcategoryZ3281 3QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l126 2

they say "waterproof" so i'm assuming that will do the trick. my batteries are right under/behind the observer seat, not near the motor box.
