Both are good, The Barefoot has a deeper V and a bigger engine. But, I like both.

I ride behind a 2001 model and love it! A friend of mine owns a '92 Nautique Excel, which has the same hull as the Barefoot Nautique. The wakes are a little different. The Barefoot does have a deeper V. I prefer the 2001. The 2001's wake feels a little more solid. But the boats were weighted very differently, so I don't think that my comparison is the greatest.

I own a Barefoot '88 2001 model... I like wake very much. I rode a couple of times behind a "normal" SkiNautique 2001 model, The hull is a little different and most people find it better. I found the Ski wake in compare with the Barefoot wake more friendly. The same size, but not as steep.... I hope it will help!

Looks great, I think it was the nicest boat in the picture. Looks like you already learned how to weight the boat too.

Tommy, I can answwer that for you, it is the Proflight Original tower, i can tell my the slight backward lean, the white stickers in their certain location, and the chrome time at where you tie your rope on. I have bee waiting to see a Nautique 2001 with a Prolight, it looks like it was meant for it. Here is another pic of the tower. -Evan
