I need to decide weather to go for a 2009 recoil or a 2009 response

About my riding-

I'm a beginner intermediate
I have a sacked out I/O so smallish wake
I also regually ride behind my buddys X2
I don't ride cable as there are none local
I ride on the sea and it can often turn choppy (I have read that of the 2 the response has more flex so it it's a smoother ride in chop.

I need to decide asap because I have to order today.

Thanks guys!

You cant go wrong with either board! The question is how big of a board do you want or how big are you? Im 6'4 185 and was riding the 142 Recoil but wanted a bigger board so went with a 145 Response and love it. I really cant tell a difference between 3-stage and continuous because the board is constantly flexing to the water.

demo them both or don't worry about it. Nothing anybody says on here will have anything to do with how you like the board.

EDIT: I've ridden the recoil and loved it

I love the recoil, but have always loved 3-stage boards

I have a response 142 and couldn't be happier. I have not rode a recoil so I really can't compare them.

I'm 5'11 and 220lbs. Im just worried that a 145 will feel too big. I'm training at the moment and want to get down to 200. Would a 145 be too big then?

I dont think it would be "too big" I was kind of in your same boat. I weigh about 215 now but was around 230. I have been down to about 195 before and rode a 144 Wtiness at that time also. I like the bigger boards though. I now have a 142 Recoil that I really like. If you are really worried about it get the smaller size in the response (142), you arent quite as tall as me (I'm 6' 2") so I am a bigger guy anyway. I think you would be happy either way!

220lbs you should be on the 145 for sure. I'm 185lbs and when I jump on a slingy I pick up the 145. I ride a 144 Ibex very comfortably. Don't be scared of a bigger board, the more lift, softer landings, more stability. You'll love it!

I'm 6'1 225, and I ride a 142 recoil. Plenty big enough. Don't think the 145 would be bad, but the 142 will work as well

Slingshots you can ride bigger, they are so light with such little swing weight that a 145 won't feel close to that big
