we don't have a boat with ballast or anything to make a good wake and inside the wake is really wide and its hard for me to go wake to wake

With the setup you describe you need to shorten your rope- seems to me about all you can do. What kind of boat, length, speed, line length, etc.?!

hey trew id say w/o knowing you riding speed and rope length, to go a little faster probally between 18-20 mph your profile says your only 10 so 1st off dont get frustrated or discouraged.
2nd ride at 60ft rope to start. after you get consistant w2w from heel and toe sides then go to 65 do the same and start riding longer and faster after you master each phase.
