Carbon Fiber wakeboards

Im from Edmonds Community College up here in Washington. Im in the materials science department of the school and what that basically means is composites. We work with fiberglass, kevlar, carbon fiber, basalt, you name it we could probly get our hands on it. It helps having Beoing close.

Anyways we have a culminating project that involves making something that we have learned about. So naturally, I immediatly though a wakeboard. Ive read a few post about carbon fiber wakeboards, but im looking for some new idea or construction.

Anyways, if you guys have any suggestions, I would really appreciate it. If this project goes as planned, I will definately post picts of the final product and process.

Mike, It's not wakeboarding but you should look at what Jeff Walker is doing with Wakesurf boards.

If u use this idea and make money you owe me. Make a wakeboard with a retractable fin or fins, similar to play knife, spring loaded. so when you hit a kicker or rail they slid into the board and back out when you hit the water. Its a great way to compete against the roam wiht out losing the wakeboard design. I sent this idea to Liquid Force with no luck. I only ask to be made vice president of your company.
