I leave my boat on a lift at a marina with security (and a reputation of nearly non-existent theft). Still, my CIPA 180 mirror sits outside of the tarp just waist high for anyone who wants to grab it. I undo it every time I put the boat up, and store it in a locker.

Is there any way to attach the mirror (and the arm from the tower) with security fasteners or locks so I won't have to do this all the time?

I got the Monster arm as it has a quick disco, for this same reason. Takes about 2 seconds to take off. Could sell your sampson arm and upgrade?

Not sure about the ball mount from the mirror to the arm, but for the arm to the tower you could use those one way security screws/bolts you see all the time in public restrooms. To undo those you pretty much have to drill it out.
If you are leaving the arm on anyway now and just worried about the mirror itself, I'm not sure how much that would help.
I agree the quick connect arm would be a good option for you.

I'd just get torx screws and be done with it. If the bad guy wants your mirror bad enough and has the presence of mind to bring an appropriately sized torx driver to your boat he's probably taking more than your mirror.

Most hardware stores have those torx with a pin in the center and other security screws.

There's a pretty extensive choice of security fastener solutions you could use with varying degrees of security. There's some information on the various options available that hopefully will be of some use here: http://www.fastenright.com/products/security-fasteners

Or just take the extra 45 seconds and remove the mirror when your done. Then take 45 more seconds like you're doing to put it back on.

Honestly I think I'd be more worried about them stealing the tower speakers than the mirror/arm. If they want something bad enough, they'll get it. It's not like the cover is preventing anyone from uncovering your boat and jumping in to steal your stereo equipment (which is much easier to sell honestly). I wouldn't even worry about it if there's no issue with thefts at the dock.
