Wake World peeps I need your thoughts on both boats listed. I'm looking at buying either boat new but I'm on the fence and need some thoughts and opinons...

Usage: 85% of time we will be surfing and the other 15% time will be wake boarding.

Cheers!!!

I don't think you can go wrong with either. I think the fit and finish goes to Supra and it has Swell system. The Tige doesn't have a surf system on their 15's. Also make sure you take your dealer into consideration.

Dealer quality then Supra

Thanks for the comments so far. Acutally Tige does have a surf system on the 15's it's called the "AVX" and the RZR I'm looking at has it and the surfer remote so you can adjust it while surfing. I've demo'd the RZR and it was nice with a decent (but short) surf wake but what I did notice over and over again is that the prop would pulpit when in rough water and trying to surf.

I'm suppose to demo the SC 400 today or tomorrow and I've heard that the "Swell System" is amazing. Any one care to give details on that...

Hey James,

First off let me say both of these boats are great boats. I love what Tige' does over there in Texas, but I work for Skiers Choice as a Supra Product Specialist and I have been traveling across the nation for two years with a Supra. My first boat on the tour was a SC350 and let me tell you I LOVED that wave, it has a very steep feel to it. The cool part of it is the endless customization options of the Swell system and SmartPlate. You can adjust how much you deploy Swell and also adjust the wake plate. Using each of these features you can make a steep short wave, a steep long wave, a mellow short wave and a mellow long wave.

One thing to look at when testing the SC400 is how flat it will run, Swell causes lift in the transom and thus makes it easier to drive. You'll be able to see over the bow and operate the boat with ease. I will try to find some pictures from when I had my SC350 to post.

You are correct^^^^

The swell system works very good in my opinion. You can actually run evenly weighted other than maybe moving your passengers to one side or the other. Makes for a nice wave with stock ballast and maybe 4 to 600# of extra ballast in back. I'm using Leadwake bags in mine to keep from having to take up anymore storage.

Matthew thanks for that great feedback. Also great picture, it really shows the distance of the wave and how clean the swell is. Cheers

I can vouch for the RZR. Punches well above its weight for a 20ftr.

The biggest issue I have with the boat is the size, it's small, and it feels small. The wake is, as a result finicky for surfing or wakeboarding.

Once you get it dialed you'll be very please but it will take some time.

Demo both and make a decision based on your needs and wants

^^this.

spending time on a 20ft boat and a 22ft boat for surfing, I'd take a longer boat over a shorter boat if both have surfsystems. .

fun to demo both tho

Wouldn't the z1 be a more valid comparison to the SC?

It would be. Almost bought a 15 SC350 holdover and having had 2 RZR's I can tell there is no comparison size wise between the boats. The SC is a big deep boat where the RZR is a narrow 20 footer. RZR does surf well when properly set up, but the SC is gonna surf much better due to size.

RZR will be better for surfing, hands down. Supra will have a smoother, steeper, cleaner wakeboarding wake

Having owned 2 RZR's and surfed the SC you couldn't be more wrong. Its not night and day but the SC surfs better no question. Wave has more push and the pocket is way longer. A lot of that is due to its size. The SC is a much bigger boat.

Update: After doing a nice long demo on the 2015 SC 400 and surfing for more than an hour it was a very easy choice to make.. I finalized my deal on the SC yesterday and feel confident it was the best choice for what I was looking for in a boat. I was most impressed with how easy it was to use the "Swell" system and how adjustable the surf wake is without over complicating things.

The RZR was a great boat and I do love Tige's (having owned a 2010 22Ve) but not being able to remove the swim plateform beacause of the AVX pretty much made the 20ft RZR a 21-22Ft boat but without all the extra interior room. Hence why I was looking at the SC (price point end up being almost the same). Also I found the AVX, TAPS and extra 400pd fac sac on the seats just to much and it seemed to over complicate the setup. I know with time the RZR would be a great surf boat but the SC was just so easy....

Thank you for updating us of your choice. Seems like I see several threads posted of a buyer debating one boat versus another. Rarely do they follow-up with their decision
