Have you seen this guy ride? Great style and control. This guy gave me some hope. Love to wakeboard but no interest in all the Ariel and high impact tricks . I was watching some of his YouTube videos and tried to pay attention to the bottom of his board. I didn't see any fins. My question is this...I have a cwb board that does have 2 deeper removable fins. Would it be easier to do these surface tricks without the fins . Just remove them? Thoughts? I have rode without them before and it does seem to make the board more loose.

Zucky rides a slingshot that doesn't have any bottom features. From my experience the bottom features or lack thereof play a bigger role in how loose a board rides. Fins certainly make a difference, but if your board has deep channels it's still going to feel locked in if you remove the fins.

That being said, it shouldn't like stop you from riding the way he does. You're just going to have to be a little more careful with your edge.

I have a 2012 Shane Hybrid that has lots of bottom features, when I take the fins off it doesn't stop me from just buttering around though

Go for it!
Post a video here we'd love to see.

Any of Shane's models are great for buttering around. Bottom channels aren't gonna lock you in. may keep you from slipping out, thats about it. It's all about edge control.
