I am going to buy a winch and was wondering if anyone knows if there is any differences between the Hypoxic Blackbox and the Grinch winch's? What's their warranty, any difference between motors, ect...

If anyone has a favorite or positive/negative reviews on either please let me know!

Thanks in advance!!

hey, if you're sold on one of those that's cool, but i see that you live in california and there is someone trying to sell their winch for like 500 dollars in the "for sale" section on here i'll post a link in a second

You could build your own for much less than the hypoxic or grinch, plus those 2 only use 6.5 hp engines, if you built your own you could throw a 13 hp in there for well under 500 for the whole thing. We built our own out at the camp and its definatly a cool toy.

Check out the Pirate Winch
And the Pulldozer as well.

If money is no object, get a Hive (they're from Sweden I believe and cost $10k)

Myke,

I'm working on getting you some pics, as well as some more information. Looks like BigEd might be able to help you out, with the transportation. If that's cool with you 2, it's cool with me.

Talk to you soon.

Blake sounds like it would work out... get me the pics and info as soon as you can and as long as I like it I'll get it.

Thanks Ed for helping out.. Did you get my voicemail last week?

Thanks dtw for that info I'll have to check those out also... except for the hive. Would anyone really pay 10k for a winch?

10k is soooooo much money, pretty insane. There are people with the ability to buy something like that and just not care... one day maybe hehe.

Yeah I go your voicemail and left you one but we have been playing phone tag for about a month now.
No problem on the transportation thing....Blake,you would bring it to my house right??

I dunno if they would pay that, but it is a pretty darn slick winch:

I guess If I had 10k burning a hole in my pocket, I'd think about it.

hah, my car isn't worth 10k
Old     (notsobueno)      Join Date: Dec 2004       07-09-2006, 10:29 PM Reply
hahaha, can you pull a rider with your car though?
Old     (scott_a)      Join Date: Dec 2002       07-09-2006, 10:53 PM Reply
of course you can pull a rider with your car! its called ditch skating.

and you DONT need a 13hp engine. 6.5 works just fine if you know how to gear it.

if youre looking to buy a winch in cali i would check out pulldozer winches. theyre $1650 www.myspace.com/pulldozer

Does anyone know if the Grinch or Hypoxic winch have brakes on them? I know the pulldozer doesn't and I would think that you would really need a brake.....
Old     (scott_a)      Join Date: Dec 2002       07-10-2006, 12:25 AM Reply
the hypoxic winches dont. not sure about the grinch.

i'd ask the winch manufacturer if they'd be willing to add a brake to the winch for a bit more money. i do know that pulldozer winches are built on demand, so there may be a certain amount of customization that can be done to it since its gotta be built anyways. its worth a shot.
