Can anyone measure the thickness of their teak platform for me on the outside edge. I have a 99 (the one with slots across it) and am going to make a ghetto gate but my boat isn't nearby. I know i could always shim it but I'd like to get in the ballpark at least.... from memory I'd guess it's about 1" - 1 1/4" thick thanks for any help

Hi. Mine is 1 3/4". 02 x30. Might have better luck on the MC site.

What would be cool is to make a Teak version. Do the surf gate flaps have to mount to the side of the boat OR can they just mount to the deck and make the space between the Hull and the Deck as close as possible.

Then Make the Surf Gates index. Imagin instead of using a Lenco style electric ram to move the gates in and out you use a piece of aluminum that has different holes to allow you to index the gate in and out by lifting a pin and sliding the gate in and out and then putting the pin down threw the hole to hold it in the desired position.

Thanks, I ended up driving up to my boat with some wood and cordless tools and had at it. What I did was try and follow the contour of the back of the boat and stapled pipe insulation foam along the edges that are up against the boat with the gate portion. I made a mount that attaches to the swim platform and the angle of the gate is adjusted with a turnbuckle. Not sure how it's going to do but I'll know tomorrow when I test it out
