Liquid printing. Check out some of this stuff.

I talked with this guy at the Houston Auto Rama. You can apply this to wood,metal,plastic etc. There is over a 1,000 different paterns. He has a wake boat(Malibu) and said he did the speaker cans and they turned out great. Here are some pics of stuff he had at the show. It is as durable as any auto painted surface. It has an automotive clear coat over the print.

How is this applied? Did anyone else see the Orange County Choppers episode where they went to some company that did camo prints on things. The way it was applied was really cool. The print was placed on top of water and the part was dipped into the print. this would cover every nook and cranny.

Its called hydro printing i think. Thought that was pretty cool.

This is the same type of thing I was thinking of sorry. Yea pretty cool stuff.

I posted a link to this guys shop. He said like $175-200 per wheel. The plastic corvette covers $150 a pair. Think of all the stuff that could be done on a boat.

I am tempted to do my motor cowl cover.

I want to do my motor cowl(blue carbon),Wet Sounds 3 some(not sure of color) and possibly a few other items.

aaron, We have done some water transfering on our speakers. The results were not something that could be reproduced consistently. so we have never sold them. Since the speakers are curved. The transfer stretches. So in the case of the carbon fiber. It does not look good on the curves. Looks great on the flat areas. Plus since the 485 is built in 3 pieces. You have to do each piece on it's own. and the 60 and 80 are two pieces so again both on their own. so a true pattern will not line up.

so if you are going to do it. Pick one of the ones that does not have a defined pattern. we had better luck with the swirls and marbles etc...as the stretching wasn't as noticeable and when you line up the parts, you can't tell. But if you dont mind the carbon having some curve to it and not lining up perfect. it can be done.

I wish we could have gotten some to come out perfect as they look really cool when finished. Just not something sellable from our end. We did some of the same patterns he has on his site. even did some funny ones like a cheetah!
