Anyone have an 03 B52? How are you weighing it? GSA vs slappers? Any help is appreciated

I used to have an 03 220V. Same hull as the B52. It had the 2ea 800 lb hard tanks. We would weight it with an additional 325 lbs on each side under the seats giving us 2250lbs plus people and gear. We had 200 -300 lbs of lead in the nose also to keep the nose down. A wake plate is a must for this boat. It helps control the attitude and allows more weight by keeping the bow down. Great clean wave on both sides. Without the real deep hull it had a tendency to dip the nose if you were not careful about waiting for the wave to pass before turning around. Other than that, it was a great surf boat and very economical on gas.

Tab based systems are where it's at. Check out InfinityWave.net for a cheaper GSA alternative.

Ha, just saw this now. My boat is the vx2, so I have the integrated bow tank and 2 speed tranny. Good to here I can get a decent wake out of her!

Still a debate on both Wake Garage and MB Boat site on tabs vs gates, er, "slappers" as MB guys call them.

A buddy of mine pulled off his GSAs for gates, whereas I know other swear by tabs on those hulls as long as you give it the ballast it will need. The debate ensues. Making gates is cheaper and easy, but there are plenty of turnkey tab options too. Great time to be into wake surfing.
