I'm looking at a 1993 maristar. Does anyone know anything about this type of boat? Does it put out a good wake for wakeboarding?

I learned to board behind a Mastercraft 230sc. It is one big boat. The wake was one of the best unweighted wakes I have ever been on. Nice ramp and semi-soft lip on the wake. What motor? we had the 454HO in it. This motor was matched perfectly to the boat (I can't imaging a smaller motor in it). Steering is very different than the boats today, you really had to "goose" the throttle to get the boat into a good turn.

Ours had a Cuddie cab, toilet, and seating below.

This maristar that i'm looking at is 22' and is a direct drive. I'm not sure if it is a 200 225 or what. He said it has a 350 chevy in it i'm not sure if that is correct but that is what he told me. Do you have to weight these down quite a bit for a good wake? thanks for the input

These are the new owners of the boat...we saw it on GV lake and snapped some shots. When it was sold, it was in pristene condition.

That's the cuddy version (240 SC) of my boat...mine's an open bow (see pic) with a 454 and tons of room. I'm currently installing a 3000 lb. ballast system, heater and tower. At the end of last season my crew and I were still experimenting with ballast layout but got the wake to be quite good. With as big as these boats are, the cuddy might be a good option particularly if you have family/small kids/need to get out of the sun - there's a head (marine toilet) in there I believe.

I put an Acme three-blade on mine and it roles...won't turn sharp like the little boats but I don't turn sharp...

Yeah we were running a 4 blade stainless. did you have the 454HO or just the 454?

Yeah the cuddy has 2 recliner chairs, sink, head, and bed. In texas it is too hot for any family use. (unless the kids are real bad...nice to see them sweat a little) It was nice in the winter....nice changing room.

I'm not sure what model this is, but here's something I've seen on our lake a few times. On a side note, if anyone knows these guys, could you please explain to them that there is no reason there boat can't do a normal turn at the end of the bays. The driver(s) think that they have to do big circles around the shoreline sending rollers all over because "there boat can't turn like other inboards"

Whats going on with that tower? Thats just wrong.

They probably can't do normal turns because the tow boat is so high the boat might tip over!
