I am not really digging my new 2009 Ibex 144. I REALLY liked my 2008 HL Era 142 but it came apart. Anyone tried replacing the 1" fins with .7 or .8 models? I want something more loose feeling.

This board has been rode twice so if anyone is interested in buying/trading let me know. I riding it tomorrow and will be making my final keep/dump decision. I have some HL .7 fins from a B-side I may try on one side to see how it feels.

Yeah, if you are coming from an era you will definitely want to get some .7" fins. Also, you may want to grind down your current ones. It is a great board, just a little grippy with the 1" fins.

The other thing I can think about is the size of your board Damn, a 144? Its a ship at that size. I know some guys like to go bigger on the boards but I prefer smaller and tighter. What do you weigh? Im on the 138 and i weigh 180-5'11". Jet

I just got a 2010 Tribute 142... haven't rode it yet but will tomorrow.

Jet- I am 5'10" 190... I had never had a board as big as the Ibex. I also rode a 2010 Marek and didn't dig it at all either. I think I just don't like dual removable fins. I grew-up riding a 2001 HL Premier and want something that rides similar.

The Tribute is a great shape, has a lot of pop for a continuous board too.

It is a bit ugly though but I don't pick a board for its looks. I took a hard look at the 2010 Team Boots and they are SICK. Look like the most awesome bindings HL has ever made.

That's good to hear about the 2010 Team boots.

The new murray is dope. I rode it today for the first time and liked it alot. It has good kick off the wake and tracks a little more than im used too but it wasn't too tight. I was riding the monarch before this board so I didnt think I was gonna dig it much but I rode good on it and I really like it. Landings felt pretty soft and easy too. I was riding the 2010 Murray Nova 142.
