we only got four X30s this year all but one are pre-sold. That picture doesn't do the surf wake justice. And it's just as nice on the other side.

That's too bad for all the people that hope for MC to fail.

Hoping for boat companies to fail is bad for the industry and bashing other brands will never sell anyone more boats.

Well it looks like it's time to bring back this old thread. After a difficult decision and a lot of research I decided to go with the Mastercraft X-30. There are a LOT of things I really like about this boat. Well today the X-30 I am having built started. Here are my first set of build pics. I can't wait to get this boat! Enjoy.

Levi... I really love your interior color selections. There is something about a dark interior that really looks classy and sets it apart from the more common white based interiors. Nice job. Boat looks like a keeper!

Thanks for the comments guys. I also really like the newer and darken MC interiors and their new Vinyl doesn't get super hot in the sun like the dark vinyl did on my Moomba. I'm also really looking forward to the rear flip seat. Only a couple weeks now!

I'm in Edmonton, we have a place at a lake in sask that we typically are at during the summer (and where my boat stays), but we do end up at sylvan a few times a year as i have a few freinds that live there.

I'll bring some gas money...how much fuel does that ship need? 500 litres?
Old     (501s)      Join Date: Feb 2010       05-03-2012, 9:48 AM Reply
Mike H, that is a sick looking X-30. The finished product will be mind blowing with all the fleck. make sure to post up some pics.

Trapper, I think it has a 65 gallon tank or something. i'm sure withbeing a 4500lb boat with 2000k+ in ballast she will drink some gas but thats what we bought her for. Seriously, if you are going to be in Sylvan hit me up and we'll go for a set. As you know Sylvan sucks on weekends especially during the day so we try to go morning or evening. Our Marina also have new owners with a plan to limit the marina to the public so they can build $30 million condos. True progress in my mind, limiting access to the lake for the common people, but not for the wealthy who own a million dollar condo. They have even hiked the launch fee to $40 a launch with no passes for locals. That's a lot of money over the course of a summer. Just garbage. I'm actually hoping people boycott our Marina.

Levi, thanks. I couldn't do the orange/black as one of my friends on the lack has that color combo. Orange/black looks fantastic on the water.

Dealer says spraying should start this week and promises pictures.

Its hard to see the red fleck but I really like how the black and red combo come together on this boat, it looks awesome. Only thing I would have changed is to have black gel on the interior but up here in Canada we don't really have to worry too much about the heat of the dark gel, heck our lake still has ice!
Old     (501s)      Join Date: Feb 2010       05-05-2012, 10:40 AM Reply
I just noticed that this black and red has different Gel coat lines then what can be designed on the build a boat and what i ordered. I really like it!

You know, as much as I dislike mc the x30 is hard to hate. I hate the new tower but they're gel scheme is on point. Flame me for this if you'd like but the gel on this boat reminds of te new z3. If I had to pick the top 3 prettiest boats of the year I'd say z3, x30, and f24 take it home...
Old     (mim3)      Join Date: Sep 2006       05-05-2012, 4:37 PM Reply
I like. The red flake is hard to work with from an interior standpoint as none of the "reds" match exactly.

Is the bottom stripe a special option?

Its shows a nice line.
Old     (craigtxmc)      Join Date: Oct 2008       05-08-2012, 7:45 AM Reply
This color scheme was the original prototype/idea. I asked MC to hook us up with the colors because of the way it had the stripes that follow the body lines..
I actually like this one a little better than the current build-a-boat scheme. Just personal preference...

That tower needs some color IMO. Black maybe? But then it would make the windshield frame stick out like a sore thumb.

I have seen this X30 in person - the red flake is awesome....

Craig - curious why you went with a MC trailer and not Boatmate like all others lately?

also - is this a customer boat or you guys putting it in inventory?

Hi Rick, the boat was ordered for a customer at the boat show. At the time, Boatmate didn't have the patterns to build the new X-30 so we went with a MasterCraft trailer.
The boat is here at the dealership while we get everything finished up.

We also got another X-30 in this morning (also sold) and i will get some pics of it when we get it uncovered.

Hey Levi. We were out Surfing and Wakeboarding yesterday. Water temp was about 55 and the lake was smooth. Hopefully this weather sticks around for the weekend to get some break in hours on the new boat. Lets see some Pics when you get it.

Picked it up today! Wow, the guys at Martin Motor Sports were good. A few minor issues but otherwise all good. Rushed home to find a storm brewing and the lake white capping. Didn't get many pics but I will get a bunch more this weekend. So far, the boat has met all my expectations. You can truly see how MC thought of all the little things. Now its time to ride it!

Craig, you have impeccable taste. That last one is custom isn't it? They don't offer that scheme exactly on the boat builder do they? Very clean look.

^^That color scheme is much better looking than the one they are offering on boat builder.

Levi, that is awesome. So much better then the Nautique rear facing seat setup. I love that it can just be a huge bed basically. I also like that is it all connected and looks easy to move the seat around. REally loving the interior of the new X30 and the exterior lines are really starting to grow on me. It is a sexy boat for sure. Can't wait to see some pics on the water.

Thank you PolarBill.. I appreciate that compliment. I like that extra color much better myself. I think it adds to the scheme..

I'm the first to say that all of the MC's don't all have formula 1 handling but this boat was a home run for MC. The X-30 will be our best seller in 2013. I honestly smiled when I drove these boats. It's been a long time coming..
Drives awesome and priced right (relatively) in my opinion.

Our boats had 6.0L with ZFT4 towers..
Hoping for Z5 biminis soon!

I havent been a MC fan in the past but 501, you're X30 looks bad***!! the color choices of everything is exactly what I would choose. Hopefully you get to get that thing in the water soon!

very very nice looking boat. VERY.

Clearly a canadian boat with the vinyl colors (ouch my thighs are on FIRE!), but it's really cool that you can get away with it there. Now let's see the pics of the wake on that machine!
Old     (501s)      Join Date: Feb 2010       05-20-2012, 7:47 AM Reply
Finally got the boat out for the first ride. People, take an X-30 for test ride!

So my biggest concern of course was the wake. I couldn't wait to see it. On my 23' Moomba XLV the wake was finicky with weight side to side and always washy at slower speeds, fully weighted at like 23+ it was great. This was big concern for me since I take out a lot of beginners and both of my kids are learning to ride (4 &6). Here are 2 pics of the wake at only 20 MPH with NO ballast.... and it was good. Adding in 2-3k will be amazing. I didn't get a pic at like 23 with just factory ballast but it great, will try to grab a pic today. I noticed compared to my Moomba the plate made more of a difference in shaping the wake from steep to mellow. Break in hours are the worst!

I was so pleased to find the wake so clean and consistent. Shouldn't be long till I have some decent pics fully weighted.

And the surf wave was just sick. With only 400 lbs and a couple people it was long and very smooth. Everyone on the boat kept commenting on how long and clean it was and how it had a sweet curl at the end.

Today we are going to try and log a bunch more hours and perhaps get a tow in. Overall, I am pleased.
