I just thought I'd start a poll to find out how many watts people are pushing on their boats! I've seen pics of some crazy systems so it should be interesting!

I've got about 2600 watts in my boat!

Leave your mark!

Haha I had to leave mine just cause it's 2700

1500 for subs and 2 600s 1 for towers and 1 for inboats.. though the inboat is bridged for 2 channels so those may be putting out more

1600 RMS for me
Old     (Wakesounds)      Join Date: May 2011       06-25-2011, 10:27 AM Reply
Hate, I think you can add about 80 at most for the deck, but it all adds up. Lol

RMS is the only number that matters. 1500 for 3 12's, 750 for the tower and 360 in boat.

My wattage goes up significantly if I put my Nav and Anchor lights on.
...not sure that that says anything too favorable for my stereo

Is that 6 pro80's or 6 pairs of pro 80's? isn't 650 watts per speaker a little pointless? Isn't their RMS rating around 150? I have heard of guys running 300-350 watts per pro80 but never 650.

2520 watts

Syn 2 pushing 700w to a 485

Syn 4 pushing 400x2 to a set of Rev 8s

Syn 6 running the in boats. 600x1 to the XS-12 then 105x4 running the in boats.

@Brett- yes it is 6/3pair of 80's...pointless? Maybe but I've been running them for over a year with no problems, tuned correctly they can obviously handle it. IMO more is always better than not enough

Pointless may have been the wrong term to use. It just sounds like a ton of watts to those. I guess it is time to upgrade those pro80s to REV10's with that much power.

That'll be my winter project since I'll have to get some acrylic grills made for my LEDs 

About 4300 here.
Old     (hatepain)      Join Date: Aug 2006       06-27-2011, 5:38 PM Reply
Gunnar, how do you have those at 2 ohms? Wouldn't that be 4 ohms on those at 330 watts?
Old     (hatepain)      Join Date: Aug 2006       06-27-2011, 5:47 PM Reply
Brett, here is Gunnars boat if you don't remember http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=785352 one of my favorites and probably should have made my biggest of the big stereos list
Old     (shawndoggy)      Join Date: Nov 2009       06-27-2011, 5:55 PM Reply
700 on the towers
750 on the sub
600 on the cabins

so 2050w

I think I'm actually backing off a bit though, to go with 600 on the sub and 300 on the cabins, for a total of 1600w. My battery and wimpy alternator will like me better.

The amps are run mono and the pair of 80's paralleled

Gunnar, do those Arc A/B amps eat up quite a bit of power? Is this part of the reason you have that crazy huge battery bank?

What is the advantage of A/B? Do they creat better sound? I think I have heard they can produce more power but aren't nearly as efficient. Is that correct?

That makes sense. Have you tried them at 4 ohms to see the what the difference is?

I'm fairly certain I am running one of the lowest wattage biggest piece-meal systems on WW.

Total 650w RMS.
140w rms for the boat (4 spkrs)
160w rms for the tower (4 spkrs)
350w rms for the sub (1 12")

But don't knock it, the system performs!
