lol, Jen! I usually make fun of people wearing those in Florida, but even I broke mine out Friday when the high was 52. Lows the next couple of days in the 20's and highs in the 50's. Florida is now experiencing our second week of winter. I'm thinking that ought to do it for the year! You'll be fine in April!

you don't have to be a pro...You don't have medical Ins?

Kim,

Just put some info in there....like State Farm policy 12345. I would think the liability release you will sign sufficiently releases WWA regardless of your medical coverage situation.

When you get to the next screen, you can choose Women's Masters. None of us...that I know of, have any years as a Pro.

Kim...so sorry...that came out so totally wrong! I was only wondering if you got what they meant by Insurance. And Kat being the absolute, total diplomat, said it most eloquently. Thanks, Kat, for softening my blunder.

Now that we have 6 weeks to Wake Games, just wondering what the count is so far:
Kat, Me, Kim, Susan, Jen......anyone else?

I thought Wake Games were March 21, turns out thats Gravel Tour! If I have 6 weeks, I might have time to get consistant enough to want to compete. I would have alot of work to do, but I kind of want to do it. Can you guys tell me whats involved--like how many events do you have to compete in to go to worlds, how much does it cost, what is the elimination process (do we all compete in finals?), whats the registration deadline? I just know nothing about the women's masters setup, and I can't find it on the King of Wake website.
I'm getting the itch girls, it might be time for me give it a try!
Old     (rnopr8)      Join Date: Apr 2005       03-08-2009, 8:04 PM Reply
Hey Irene..that would be so awesome if you joined us. Worlds involves going to Nationals. Last year they invited all of us who competed in Nationals to go to Worlds. There were 7 of us at nationals last year and they took the top 4 to the final round. I think there were 6 at Worlds and not sure how many were in the final round....Kat would know....I had to stay home with this stupid foot

Entry fee is $150.00. Registration deadline will be on King of wake and you can register there too.

Hope you join us...it will be a lot of fun!

Yes, I know. I've been MIA. Spent a week in Ecuador surfing, came back to a week and a half of respiratory illness and then trying to get back into the swing of things. I finally feel normal . . . not sure if that's a good thing. ;)

Looking forward to seeing everyone in Orlando!

Would any one like to share a car and/or hotel?

Kat, are you going to ride before or after, and could I come along and be the official photographer?

Hey Allison!

We have a session set for the day before comp on Thursday, but it will be about an hour North of Orlando. I already have 9 people in the boat that day anyway. You know I need you there to coach me on a competition run!

We will likely set something up closer to OWC for Friday afternoon, so I'll let you know when I learn more on that one.

Anything involving my boat is a little bit tentative, as I have a new one coming and if the old one sells before the new on arrives....trouble!

Speaking of Liz - know anyone interested? I know you can vouch for the wake on my '03 Naughty!!
Old     (lizrd)      Join Date: Jul 2002       03-19-2009, 1:32 PM Reply
OMG that wake is sick...and Flossy is one tough broad, too. Wouldn't want to mess with her! I'm guessing she counts as one of the 9 in your crew. I wish I could be there for the fun but I know you gals will represent! I will catch up with you all in Oklahoma - or I guess that would be "y'all" down that way. If I have to I will haul my boat down to OKC so we can get a pull. It's not exactly bringing the FR to the G but it would be close.
Old     (wakekat15)      Join Date: Jul 2005       03-19-2009, 2:49 PM Reply
Susan has two boats...we'll make her bring one to OKC from Austin! :-) She has a new SAN 230, which I have affectionately named "the BEAST"!
Old     (oldgirl)      Join Date: Jun 2008       03-19-2009, 9:19 PM Reply
I assume you mean an 03 210. I think that wake with 9 people aboard will be too big for me!

How much are you selling it for? I have a nephew in the market, but not a lot of cash.
Old     (wakekat15)      Join Date: Jul 2005       03-20-2009, 1:25 PM Reply
lol..it will be huge, but I'm sure you would enjoy it! Maybe Friday!

I am willing to "let it go" for $32,000 & that is a steal for this boat. It is in excellent condition! I am trading it in VERY soon for $32k, so holler quick if he's interested. It would help me reduce the sales tax if I trade in a paid off boat, as the dealer would handle the transaction as a pass through.

It is listed @ $34,500 & the link is below.

When Kat says excellent condition that is an under statement - it is in amazing condition. It is a really, really nice boat....and the wake rocks.

So, what's the story, Renie? You riding with us at Wake Games? Also, I'm thinking a Clear Lake outing would be nice on Friday afternoon as we would ride before lunch! I can bring my boat, assuming I have one!

Liz - thanks so much for the compliments on my Baby! It's going to be hard to let her go!

Here's what the new one will look like: (add a bimini and lose the strangers shown!)

Hey what kind of length are you gals riding at? I am at 75 behind the xstar. the 210 has a wider wake?
Old     (wakekat15)      Join Date: Jul 2005       04-02-2009, 4:40 PM Reply
Hey Kim...what is the beam on the X-Star you ride behind? The new 210 is 98" wide, if that helps you. I will likely ride at 70' since I'm used to my little '03 210 that is only 91" wide & I ride at 75' or 80' behind it.
Old     (polhamus)      Join Date: Sep 2006       04-06-2009, 6:55 PM Reply
Sorry Kat I forgot to get back to you. Its 102" so ya know I rode behing the 210 at INT, and had my rope at 72' so I will be fine. Charge the wake!!!

Okay, you guys can breathe, I'm not going to Wake Games. I know you were all scared waiting to hear if I was going or not, but you can relax I can't get the days off. LOL, I'm totally joking, not about the part about not being able to go though. Unfortunately, THE MAN won't allow me to take more days off this year. Worlds took days I didn't have and Spring Break just so happened to be last week.
Good luck ladies!! Have fun and tear it up!! Most of all REPRESENT!!!

Kat how do you like Florida? we may be getting a military transfer to clearwater. Then I can see you a lot!!!
Old     (wakekat15)      Join Date: Jul 2005       04-07-2009, 2:01 PM Reply
Honestly...not so fond of it! Bunch of crotchety senior citizens that drive too slow (& the wrong direction often) and obviously aren't happy to be alive! Of course, I live in a rural area where I'm considered a spring chicken! ;-D I'm stereotypically speaking of course; otherwise, everyone is very nice! lol

The wakeboarding scene is just plain weird. It's hard to get to know anyone with all the little lakes = not a lot of interaction with others. We pretty much go out by ourselves & don't really know very many people. Which is why we had to buy some friends - Flossy & Joyce (aka fat sacs)! Just as well, as they never want to take up valuable riding time on the good water!

Clearwater would probably be better since it's on the coast & people just tend to be happier on the beach than us "inlanders"!!

I'm working in Texas a lot for the next few months, so I'm not really there that often. If it weren't for being away from my family, I wouldn't miss it!

All right gals get ready to show them what you've got. Wish I was flying out tonight to join you! We haven't even summerized yet as the water just liquified and temps are still in the 30s at night. We have to get out there soon!

I want a full report with photos and documentation. Who drafted who, who rode and how your passes went. Do your best and HAVE FUN! I will SO be thinking of you tomorrow morning. Anyone know if there is a webcast? Come to think of it maybe you are riding as we speak - it is 10:00 Florida time....

Whew...two days of fun and sun & late nights kept me from being on here! It was SO hot, so August is going to be BRUTAL!! Thanks, Liz for all of the support!

Sigi Bachler won Master's Women; she is all the way from Germany!! Her finals run (from what I saw, as I rode just before her) consisted of mostly w2w 180's and w2w grabs. She finished off her 2nd pass with a BIG HS Backroll and fell beyond the 3/4 line on a TS Backroll. She is a solid rider and a super sweet person that we enjoyed spending time with!

I was happy with my run, although I was a bit sketchy at the end of my 1st pass. (Mostly HS grabs, TS w2w 180, TS w2w & Surface BS 180/half cab). I was laughing at myself, which made it all the more fun! lol I fell on my 1st tantrum attempt, but landed a good one on my last trick and actually got back to the dock via boat vs. the jet ski!

I wish we all could have made it to ride on Saturday, as it appeared that none of us did our best in the semi-finals! It was an enjoyable experience, but would have been better if we weren't missing some of the group!

Kat's absolutely correct....it was a lot of fun and the group was a great group. Sigi was really fun to get to know and a sweet lady...and great rider ( Goot Gemacht!!!) It really was fun meeting Sigi and Kim. Maybe she will be back for Worlds? I wish I could have hung with the group more but I had family obligations as it was still Kyle's spring break.

And it wouldn't be complete without a girls day out hosted by a FRG member. Thanks Kat for a great day riding with Flossie!!

The water was great at the times we rode. It got pretty blown out later in the day, just in time for the pros!

I didn't throw a Fashion Air at Wake Games this year, but just because I know you want to see one am attaching a photo of this one done at TSR last year! lol
