I have a couple of rims that are hazzy/foggy on my trailer, can someone suggest a cleaning product that would help restore it's shine?

Any product made to clean auto wheels will work. Go to your local auto parts, the shelves are full of them, just make sure it's for chrome wheels. (Message edited by Razzman on May 08, 2009)

If you still can't get them shiny try Flitz polish.

In a quick fix...a microfiber rag and windex will shine them up real bright!! I do the rims on my avalanche all the time. SHINY!!

Steve, I've tried that to but it doesn't remove the fogginess from the rim. It just makes the shiny parts shiny, but the hazy parts stay. I bought Mother's wax today, at the recommendation of the salesman. They didn't have Flitz, so I'll have to see if this works instead. Thanks all for the recommendations!

You can find flitz at west marine. I've used it on aluminum, stainless, chrome, plastic, and it works great on all of them. Don't know why but it works.

I ended up having to go back to the store since the salesmen sold me the wrong wax. Now with the correct polish for chrome, the rims are starting to come back to life. Just A LOT of elbow grease. Thanks again for the advice guys!

Use Mothers Mag and aluminum polish (round red can with a white lid), if you want to go crazy get the Mother's powerball that goes on a drill, it works really well and is about $30, you will get aluminum rims way shinier with the powerball than with regular elbow grease.

Hey Scott, the Mag & Aluminum polish is the first product I bought and had to return because it didn't do anything on my rims. I ended up using Mother's Chrome polish which did a much better job. I would have bought the powerball if BOTH the battery chargers for two drills didn't break at the same time.

If they are the stock chrome mods then use #3 steel wool and water. That will clean them up really easily and will not scratch. It will take off any rust as well. DO NOT USE ON ALUMINUM WHEELS!!! Use metal polish.
