I do not like politics. I do not like bad news. But I just read something very alarming. Restrictions are in the works to enforce C.A.F.E standards. You have been hearing Al Gore(buddy) pushing for cars emissions. It goes much further than that. Your boats, no matter how old they are will have to comply to new regulations. I got a read out of a Detroit Newspaper...and I had to dig (they don't want this to be front page) But it basically said V8 and most 6 cylinder engines would not comply to the new standards no matter what. They specifically pointed out marine use too. Big boats will be forced into using Bio diesel. A lot of lakes they said would have restrictions on how many motorized boats they will allow in each. Some lakes including a lot of all sports lakes currently will not allow motorized boats at all in the near future (depending on the test they do to the air and water for each lake). So in a nutshell, you might be lucky to find a lake that allows motorized boats, but then only certain sizes at that 4 or less cylinders. You might have to drive further to get to a spot you can ride. And you will have to tow your boat with a mini-van or less to get to your ride area. I know this sounds extreme...and it is! But this is what they(Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid..just to name a few are pushing). Direct quotes from these individuals is my source of information. Not some tabloid web site or news service. Very Scary for us! I thought it definitely needs the attention before they cover it so badly then spring it on us last minute. I will post links and pieces of articles here soon. I really don't see how they could enforce these measures. But it could impact us in some way.

Just buy carbon credits from Al Gore. I'm sure he sells them.
This is just a new way to tax all of us for the rest of our lives, that's why you hear him say "it's going to take a thousand years to reverse this trend" which really means a thousand year tax. This will be the biggest scam in history.

If what you’re saying happens in the near future, I'll sell my boat and take up kite boarding, and stick it to the man.

Stacy.....carbon credits...yhea what a complete scam. The new word for taxation is exactly what it is. Can anyone say Socialist! Malcolm...I am with you brother. Fred Thompson is looking like the best solution. Just hope he runs. If we band together now, we might be able to help stave off this crap. I know we are a niche group. But that is the problem, they (treehuggers, Gore, Pelosi, Reid) know we are a niche group (easy to pick on, less people to fight). So they start with the niche and work their agenda up to the top (autos, trucks, SUVS). 20 years ago it was global cooling. I like this one: What is stopping the other planets from warming up in the solar system. The temps are on the rise too. Explain manmade CO2 on those planets. It is a natural process this planet and others goes through. The only way we can stop it is to take out the sun! Anyone want to help me destroy the sun?

Do you know how much money the government will lose if they outlaw v8 and v6 engines? That virually means no luxury vehicles, no SUVs, no Trucks.

It wont happen. I see a huge tax coming on gas in the future.

I was excited about global warming because I thought it would give me a longer riding season but I guess that is shot if I cant us a boat.

See what happens when people vote democrat for one reason alone(the war). In two years we will be lucky if we can still afford our boats, after they take most of our paychecks for the increased BS Taxes they sign into law. Its ok if you don't believe in the war, but so do a lot of republicans. Don't go haywire and vote democrat for christ sakes. They will take everything we own and give it to the dead beats,, I mean poor.

Scott, this is "pie in the sky" hearings in Washington right now. We have nothing to worry about this year.

IMO the debate cannot ignore people like Roy Spencer who don't buy most of the assumptions being made today . . .

Chase...good info..I have read that before. My concern is people falling for Gores new religion and acting on it. Ask opinions around you. You would be surprised how many people are falling for it. It could end up in political mess for us to save our sport. Maybe nothing will change this year or be noticed. But what about next year. near future to me is within five years. And I have a feeling all this publicity on Global Warming is going to give a nod for Gore to run again. Imagine what those years would be like for you and I, if he was to win in 08. By the time we could reverse the damage he creates, I'll be in a walker.

I think they would expedite change in an indirect way, as opposed to banning something, such as a high increases in fuel prices. This would provide a big dis-incentive and eventually change the market landscape (aka can't afford boating/V8 engines anymore)But then again, those who make the laws can change the laws. It's such a damn complicated mess, this election may be the most important in the history of civilization.

I am all for reducing emissions, but boating is a very small piece of the pie, which can be both a positive and a negative. On one side, you could argue that eliminating recreational boating is an easy first step to reducing the overall pollution levels, and could take some stress off of the autos. And since it is recreational, there really isn't a need. Instead of going out on the lake, we could all enjoy a good hike in the woods. On the other side of the coin, it could be argued that it is a small piece of the pie, and there are bigger issues to tackle first. God help us if Gore gets elected. Did anyone see that email flying around about how his home uses soooo much energy?

I think it would be difficult for them to single out the marine industry to live up to standards that the automotive industry can't follow. If changes need to be made, they need to be put into action by the big boys first.

Well, having lived in Washington DC most of my life, I can say this for certain - What we are seeing is really a heavy marketing campaign and I doubt that over 50% of the country are buying it. Newspapers and congressional hearings make it seem that way, but I think it safe to assume that any campaign based on what Gore is proposing will be an unmitigated disaster.

That said, I hope enough hype is created to get him into the race. I would love to see him lose again. Al Gore, at the very least, is a boob . . .

and the whole global warming, inconvienent truth bull is all just a marketing scheme for gore to run again....although i wonder if he will be able to afford the pay cut considering he makes $200K for every lecture he gives.......

the political climate in this country and the way the public believes anything that comes out of peoples mouths right now seriously makes me wonder if this will be a place i want to live and raise children is 10 years.......

ugh im just disgusted....

I guess I, as a liberal, am going to be in the minority on this one, but are you all serious about all this? None of the stuff that is being said about getting rid of V-8 engines or any of that is ever going to happen. Whoever told you that was full of it. And in case you all haven't noticed, global warming is and issue. A big one. I like wakeboarding as much as the next guy, probably more than him/her, but I like to eat as well. Just a slight change in the global temperature would inflict serious damage on agriculture.

Also, the changes that the government is making to help out this issue don't even affect our population. They affect companies like GM, Ford, Crysler, and power companies across the nation because they are the ones that have to meet the regulations set by the government. And so what if ships have to start running on Bio-diesel. It is better for your car anyway. If we did start running cars on ethanol and biodiesel, it wouldn't just help the environment, it would help out farmers by giving them a good crop to grow, and it would create more jobs for the production of the fuel. If the government did it right, they could subsidize it and make it cheaper than gas, instead of subsidizing the corn they use for making high-fructose corn syrup that is making our country fat, and tobacco which is killing millions of people a year.

Just so that you know this, if you get fat, its your own fault (unless you have some disease and you can't help it), not the corn syrup's but that is the big thing in food that is terrible for you. I personally don't care what you do to your body but I don't think that the government should be giving money to things that hurt the citizens instead of giving it to things that help them.

Matt...not going to debate this but clarify. Gore is pushing for smaller cars and smaller engines. No trucks or SUVS. He has clearly stated this. You said the government does not effect the population over this issue. Sorry...Yhea it effects GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda etc.etc, you are right there. Chances are you have a GM engine in your boat. If it says Vortex, or Indmar etc, it's GM. Let me let you in on another little secrect they are not telling you. Did you know that a Hummer H3 is more environmently friendly than that of a Toyota Prius or any hybrid for that fact. It is called life recycibility of an auto. From the emissions from the plant that it is assembled in to the time you drive it, then finally to the junk yard...it is more toxic and hazardous to the environment than that of a H3. This study takes in account of the amount of gas consumed and CO2 released. Why...batteries! Remember the label..dispose of properly..do not throw into fire. That is one big battery not to throw into the fire. What about getting T-boned in a hybrid...what kind of damage does that put into the environment with the acid spilled out onto the road. Ethanol will drive up produce prices, will cause farmers to resort to bad practices because it does not have to be a perfect crop to turn it to ethanol. Ethanol gets not nearly as good of gas mileage. Ethanol puts out the same amount of CO2 one you really compare mileage to fuel consumption. Bio diesel...maybe the future of engines in all boats...including wakeboats. Just some facts to think over.

matt i cant believe you just said this doesnt affect our population......wow....

me and scott (the original poster) are from the detroit area anything that happens to the big 3 has large affects on our economy and our population...

im all for ethanol....im a car guy and i can see the benefits of it and not from emmisions because honestly i could give a like it from a performance stand point and the fact that we can make it here in this country.......top fuel dragsters used to run on ethanol...

and where did the whole getting fat thing come from.........

last but not least......global warming is not an issue the planet goes through climate changes.....and todays climate isnt much different than it was in the 1930's getting warmer and warmer however between the 40's and 80's it cooled down quite a bit before warming up again.....

i just love how gulable people are sometimes like my brother who is taking an environmental science class in college right now and comes home one weekend preaching global warming.......i than asked where his teacher when to school and who wrote the text he uses...his teacher went to UofM in the 70's and the text authors were along the same line........

its actually hilarious to me what people will believe.........

The fact of the matter is that it will not happen. There is no way that the government can legally limit the size of the engine in a car. Even if they do pass emission standards that high, it would not affect cars or boats that have already been made. Many emission standards have been made, and none of them have been applied to cars made before the deadline. As for the hybrid bit, that isnt entirely true. Yes it is a big battery with lots of battery acid, but the nice thing about acids are that when combined with a base, they turn into salt water. As for ethanol, it gets about one mpg less than gasoline, but it is still more environmentally friendly because it burns much cleaner than gasoline. Also, the FDA has standards that have to be met for anything we eat, and I'm pretty sure that Ethanol is not made from the same plant as what we eat.
Old     (wakereviews)      Join Date: Sep 2006       03-22-2007, 9:36 AM Reply
You can argue for and against ethanol all day. Anyone see the Car and Driver article about how they found that overall, when considering production of ethanol, etc... using ethanol actually burns more gas than not using it. But, one thing I think is good about ethanol is that it is a step in the right direction for finding cleaner, and more abundant energy sources. I drive a big friggin SUV and have the 8.2L python engine in my boat btw (and I don't want to give that up, but i am definitely very interested in new energy sources)

You have got to be kidding me. You actually think that Global Warming is a hoax? If it wasn't true, why would the general science community believe it? Maybe its because there are facts backing up the claims. The pollution we let out into the atmosphere doesnt just affect global warming. It also contributing to lung diseases such as asthema, which has risen tremendously in the past 10-20 years among children. As for the Big 3 having an effect on our economy, thats a load. I understand that in Detriot they are a big deal, but for the rest of the country, it isn't. GM, Ford, and Crysler are outsourcing their jobs so fast I can barely even consider them to be "American Cars" anymore. Our real economy is based around pharmasutical and software companies, not around cars. And Stacy, if you are so worried about high taxes and false claims, why dont you talk to your president about the trillion dollar war over weapons of mass destruction that he has yet to find. As for the getting fat thing, I was just pointing out another fault with your corrupt, corporation-loving, republicans.

I am not sure about wakeboarding, but global warming very likely will ruin snowboarding. I really love snowboarding and I don't want to lose it. I still have wakeboarding, but it's like if you have two children and you'll going to lose one of them. This year in Europe was the most dry and hot winter I've ever seen! The snow was so little that I snowboard twice less than normal. The season was a complete disaster for the snowboard industry.

And guys, don't stray, global warming is real!

Paul, I completely agree with you on that. I believe that alterative energy sources are the answer, as well as emissions standards. The government won't pass a law saying that you can't have a V8, and even if they did, there is no way it would start with boats, considering most of our exhaust goes into the water, not the air.

matt i dont think you have any idea how clean cars are these days compared to what they used to be....while 0 emmisions would be great the sacrifice in size and ability of the cars would be insane..they would be able to do nothing more than move people around.....and normal cars dont emmit much more than 0 of anything (co2, nox, hc)....

i am just extremely sick of liberals wanting to take away my personal freedoms for 'the greater good' my great grandparents didnt come to this country to be told how to live.....and that is the bottom line for me it may sound horrible and selfish but i dont care about my impact on the planet you only live once and i want to do the things i want to do.....and for me that means driving high performance cars that use high octane gasolines and dont have to worry about how much they pollute...it means i can drive wherever i want whenever i want and can stop at any gas station along the way to refuel..it means i can use my boat whenever i want....you get the idea i dont want someone telling me what i can and cant do because of the environmental impact......

cant we just get liberals and hippies to worry about the rainforests or ozone holes again.....

Dont have kids and it'll be a non issue. We'll just have a great time, burn the earth to the ground, use up all the oil, and our population will slowly die off.

No skin off my back. That way I wont feel bad about leaving this problem for my kids, or their kids.

Not to get off the subject, but bitching about Republicans or Democrats won't solve anything. If you read it in your local paper, no matter how obscure and small the article was, it's exactly what they wanted you to see and no more.

If you want to get fired up about the idiots in Washington, heres a little site that's full of material bound to get your blood boiling. Unfortunately, the author has passed on, but the site and the truth remains. Plenty of reading material. Don't forget to dig around in the archives.

Well that's a subject of it's own.

The bottom line is if Al Gore gets his way, we as Americans will pay more taxes on.........
boating, driving, lake fees, camping fees, gas, tires, getting wakeboards shipped, oil changes etc........

Those taxes wouldn't be a little more, Al would try to tax us out of the picture.

Matt, you are too young to know any better so you would be a fool not to be liberal. However, when you get older you will realize just how much BS is out there that is clouded by "facts". The best fiction is that which is backed up by facts. The Divinci Code, Jurassic Park, etc. Linking ones opinion to oberservable facts does not make ones opinion true.

The scientific community sustains itself with doomsday prophecy. People are willing to pay them to research when they have a potential outcome to fear. After you have sat through a few, you begin to recognize them. Notice the wording in the GW documentation. They use words like "probably" and "likely". That should tip you off. These prophecies help scientists get grant money and give politicians a platform. It isnt truth. They are taking the facts about the earth fluxuating temps, and attaching it to a political agenda. It sounds good because it has fact attached to it.

Global temp changes are very real. They have nothing to do with the political talking points they have been attached to.

Dont forget, this same scientific community told us we were headed into an ice age back in the 70s. Global temps were dropping and the trend was going to have us all in igloos in a few hundred years. They were paid large grants to study this trend.

Notice AlGore doesnt really care if you conserve, he wants you to pay someone else to conserve in your place (credits). If he was concerned about actual contributions, him and his wife wouldnt live in a 40 room mansion.

Uhhhh...how many of you realize, that Lake Tahoe banned two strokes years ago? The pollution levels were too high. It is something they need to do nation wide. Well actually global!

They are putting cats on boats now, and forcing them to reduce emissions already. In the future we will have cleaner water supplies, but for now, the offending boats do need to be banned. Mostly they are two strokes, and it would not surprise me at all if they are not almost totally banned soon.

So the question is not about taxation etc. it is about pollution and YOUR drinking water, as that is what most of the places we ride on are. Are you OK with dying of cancer or having other health issues?

^^^ Kevin ... LOL

And what is the REASON people are getting their thongs in a wad? The original poster says:

"Direct quotes from these individuals is my source of information."

Unless you are 'buddy-buddy' with 'those people' (and have the dinner video to prove it) then you should site the primary source, not the secondary source. AND, there isn't even an article cited that provides a focal point to this conversation!!!! NObody is learning different points to the argument and EVERYbody is throwing out their own self-revolving spew. This whole thread is fiction!!!!

Matt - I got'cher back, man! Seems like a lost cause, though... I'm REALLY surprised that this small segment of the wake community is so conservative. Hmm. Interesting.

Keep it comin' - I'm looking for some good fiction this afternoon!!!

Jason, I agree w/ many of your points, much of it is fear-based and politically driven. However, there are two facts we must all come to terms with
1)Throughout history, from ice core samples recording thousands of years of climate data, there are several known spikes in CO2...which are also highly correlated with temperature increase. These spikes in C02 level off and decrease, along with temperature.

2)The current spike is alarming, because it is continuing its upward ascent, and nobody knows when it will level off and (hopefully) descend.

This is why it is pretty much accepted (by the scientific community) that something is happening to our climate. And I am not sure about the details, but pollution credits are supposed to allow for market forces to help reduce pollution...which by the way is better than big gummit throwing a big wrench in the American way of life. It will allow for a phased process of change. And yeah, if you're as rich as Al Gore...you gotta spend all that money on something! I know I would.

I may only be 17, but I know a lot more than you may be willing to give me credit for. Global Warming is real and is an issue. Greenhouse gasses get trapped in our atmosphere causing the world climate to rise over time. Right now we may seem like we are in a "cooling period," but that is becasue we have cut back on the emissions we let out into the atmosphere each year. We have been feeling the effects of the Industrial Revolution of the mid to late 1800's, and because we have cut back on our emissions, the problem is slowing. That does not however mean that it has stopped all together. We need to continue to make changes to help our environment such as finding alternate energy sources. I dont think we should get rid of all V8 engines, that is impractical, but finding alternate energy sources, making cars more fuel efficient, and making them burn cleaner will help our environment. The cars now are cleaner than they were before the 90's, and those cleaner than the ones before the 70's (dates of the clean air acts), but if we do not still make reasonable and mangageable changes to the way we live, our great grandchildren will feel the consequences. Bush wants to pass the Clear Skies Act which would undo many of the reasonable regulations put forth by the Clean Air Act. He is also an idiot.

All those things should be done for health and economic reasons. We shouldnt need a doomsday scenario to facilitate these changes.

You also have to understand that the "real truth" is that we know very little about how the planet works. For a planet allegedly hundreds of millions of years old, it seems a bit hasty to make any decision based on 100 years of data. Even with ice core samples, there is still quite a bit of assumption. We use todays data to calibrate the measurements in the ice core samples. If the makeup has remained exactly the same, then the core sample results are accurate. If they were different, then it throws off the readings. We dont know and have no way of knowing for sure.

So since we dont have another planet to test with and monitor, the sad truth is that our only option is trial and error. Even then you wont know if its natural or manmade.

In the end the truth is that you have an occurance whose origin cannot be determined. Its trend is not easily measured, and results of any action cannot be confirmed helpful or certain. In the event this isnt man made, and is a natural occurance, what are the consequences of us using technology to halt it?

Hard sell if you ask me.

global warming is an issue

but omg get over the whole democratic vs republican bit.

i did a research paper this year on the effect of politics on media. For those of you who believe everything you read you should know that 97% of all media information (tv, newspapers, internet, books, etc) is politically biased.

global warming has nothing to do w/ politics so quit your whining and do something about.

It already happened with dirt bikes going to 4 stroke and when I had to buy a 4 stroke to replace my 2 stroke I was pissed and never thought that a 4 stroke could come even close to a 2 stroke in performance.
I was wrong and now I woulden't even get on a 2 stroke, my 4 stroke is the shiz!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I dont care if they change the power plants in wake boats for improved emissions, as long as what they replace the motor with works as good or better then what they have now, I could care less.

Come'on, JG - do you really need trial and error to know that smoke is not good for your lungs? S'ok - you're already doing WAY more than your part in gas conservation with your kiteboarding - MAY-be you're just worried that this will convert everybody over and overcrowd your riding!!!

Yes, there is too much of the political crap woven into it (and everything else - thank you Emily for your thoughts), but do we really need a full-out understanding of the earth's systems over the course of billions of years to know that polluting is bad for it?

Dammit - I can't keep my mouth shut. Keep the faith, Matt! I'd rather go argue pointlessly with some rednecks on Texas Fishing Forum than keep going here...

I personally doubt the science behind global warming. I do feel we need to take care of the air and water and do reasonalbe things to reduce pollution. What really bothers me about the alarmist approach is that it is primarly focused on the US, Japan, and developed portions of Europe paying for or making all the changes. India and China are not expected to reduce pollution because they are developing economies and have lots of unemployeed people. So we pay more for "carbon" or shut down factories in America, build a replacement in a developing country with fewer controls than here and somehow believe it helps global warming. It is just a tax on rich people to help poor people around the world.

I could care less if they ban two strokes. There are plenty of alternatives to them.

and yes, why isn't Matt in school?

You get conservative views on boating sites, because a lot of Republicans are boat owners. It comes back to spending your money on stuff you want, or stuff the government thinks you want. Or that was how the old Advertisement went. Remember the one with that comedian that was promoting the Dems. He kept coming back to "Republicans like it so they can buy big boats" (as if that were a negative).

this thread kinda ticks me off, sure global warming is an issue but they will NOT ban all these boats. furthermore, what about guys like me that have older boats. im not gonna go drop a couple grand in my boat to comply. they know thats not right. just like they arent gonna make older cars go buy new engines. if they wanna regulate boats do it with new boats straight from the factory. i really dont believe any of the stuff in the original post. and it cracks me up to see people take this serious and get all worried about it. wakeboarding will not be ruined by global warming, and like someone said, we are getting a longer riding season :-)

Emily you said: global warming has nothing to do w/ politics so quit your whining and do something about....about that....Then why is Al Gore making it his business? If it had nothing to do with politics, then why is he the poster child and not a scientist. He is a politician...not a scientist. He has an agenda.

Pollution is bad, but that fact doesnt make the planet any warmer. And yes, I want all you guys to keep fighting over small strips of butter and leaving the abundant spaces alone! I have lots of friends in the wake industry and they feed their families selling you $30k boats for $60k. So please, by all means, spend away! And, keep putting endless amounts of gasoline in there are well. You keep spending on gas and Ill keep spending on wind.....oh yeah, wind is free...until Al figures out how to tax it.

I know this sounds extreme...and it is! But this is what they(Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid..just to name a few are pushing). This is from my original thread. It sounds ridiculous and obsurd...yes. Will they get their way....No probably not. Not with the engine part of it. But will they have an impact...maybe...likely..somewhat. How confident are you? In Michigan we had a whole bunch of trails in the 70's and 80's to ride dirt bikes on. In 94, 95...around that time. Bill Clinton passed an order that closed a lot of our federal trails and state trails down. We still have a few today..but that is much fewer. Anyone else from Michigan remember this? How about Minnesota? Everyone is commenting on the engines...ok that is the shock value of the piece. Maybe your focus is suppose to be on that to hide the part about limiting and removing boaters from some lakes. Please re-read that portion. That is the part that got my attention. I will post the link as soon as I find it again. Detroit news rotates their news stories way too fast and it is probably archived. The title I do know did match most of the meat of the story. So give me a few.

I don't see how there is any possible way that the government can tell me (a taxpayer) that I will not be allowed to use my boat (that I paid taxes on) on a public lake that is funded by my tax dollars. I'm sorry, but in my opinion, this will never happen. As for the engines, also my opinion that this will never happen. The government will not ban a V8 or V6. If they are so worried about this, and they take this over to boats, then they would also be forced to regulate aircraft as well. Aircraft have gotten away from emission regulations b/c the smaller amount of actual planes. I believe that boats would fall in this catergory. There are smaller number of boats and there usage is minimal enough not too make a huge impact.

And if this does take into effect, and worse comes to worse, I will just win the lottery and build my own lake!

In 2002 about 40% of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions stem from the burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation. Coal accounts for 93 percent of the emissions from the electric utility industry.

Coal emits around 1.7 times as much carbon per unit of energy when burned as does natural gas and 1.25 times as much as oil. Natural gas gives off 50% of the carbon dioxide, the principal greenhouse gas, released by coal and 25% less carbon dioxide than oil, for the same amount of energy produced. Coal contains about 80 percent more carbon per unit of energy than gas does, and oil contains about 40 percent more. For the typical U.S. household, a metric ton of carbon equals about 10,000 miles of driving at 25 miles per gallon of gasoline or about one year of home heating using a natural gas-fired furnace or about four months of electricity from coal-fired generation.

Go Nuclear and eliminate 40% of the problem. Oh thats right all the bleeding heart liberals made it impossible to build new nuke plants.

Here in California our utility company can not build more power plants due to restrictions so PG&E just builds coal burning power plants in other less populated States.

The biggest problem here is that we run around talking about vehicles and the real problem is that we and most country's continue to burn coal to make energy.

"carbon dioxide, the principal greenhouse gas"

I was under the impression that we exhale CO2 when we breathe? Wonder if Al is exploring the idea of banning exhaling? Pretty sure Al isn't in need of any extra O2.

Wow, I only missed this post for one day and look what happened! While any issue that effects people should be above "politizing", those of us who actually have jobs and pay taxes know that this will NEVER happen. Trying not to rant here, there is a wonderful quote I heard. It goes something like "Show me a 20 year old who is not liberal, and I'll show you someone with no heart. Show me a 35 year old who is not conservative, and I'll show you someone with no brain." The fact is that the government continues to get involved more and more in peoples lives and this is just another example. If you think there is no chance that this could happen, just look at the other things the government has done lately. Anyone ever think you would not be able to smoke in a bar? Sure, smoking is bad for you,we all know that, but this is America and it's a bar! If you disagree, drink at home or go to non-smoking establishment. Can't find one? That's because no one can make money on one with no one there. Come on. How about McDonald's not being able to sell super size stuff anymore? Not completely government, but the threat of. I happen to work on a huge college campus and it scares me to see how the kids of today are being indoctrinated with the liberal fantasies. I like to think myself a reasonable person, but I can tell you all it is really bad. So bad that I just saw a movie trailer for a new movie call IU. (Indoctrinate University) I hope this does not affect our sport. I hope that the science will finally be made clear on global warming, because right now the answer you get depends on which side of the political aisle you're on. I am actually very impressed with the WW community to have such a lengthy discussion on this and for being (mostly) adult about the responses to the few on here that come across as "liberals". Hey, I'm conservative and to be honest, people like Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi and such using my hard earned tax money for their "social" plans and proven "give away" plans makes me sick. But it's nice to see that there is a place where people discuss issues that anyone outside our community would never dream would take place. Congrats WW!
