I'm upgrading my numbers to some quality domed numbers. I just need to make a decision between the colors. (White with a black outline or black with red outline) The black and red match my boat, but I would like to low key it with the white on a white hull. I just don’t know if the black outline will stand out enough to be legal and I don’t want to get hassled by the man. Anyone have some pics of white numbers on a white hull?

I bet they would be plenty visible. The mans gonna hassle you no matter what if you're in a wakeboat so get used to it.

If you added the option of some offset shadow to the numbers it will help it standout more. I think you'll be good. I have white domed numbers with chrome outline/shadow effect but it's on the orange part of my hull.

I have domed numbers, white letters with black outlines and have never been questioned/stopped for it. I can email you a pic if you PM me with your address.

I have domed numbers too. The first set I bought were black with chrome borders. And I installed them on the black stripe just below the rub rail. We were at Banks Lake (in central WA) & the county sheriff said they were not visible enough & had to be more contrasting than they were. I ended up reordering the numbers in white w/ chrome. They stand out now. A bit too much if you ask me. But the cops haven't bothered me at all.

I don't really understand the registration numbers. Whenever I've been stopped they always ask for the registration card and don't seem to check the numbers on the boat at all, so why don't we just carry the card and keep our boats looking clean without the numbers.

If you run over a jet skier and take off, how else will they know who to send the trophy to?
