I know the number of canadians on this forum may be small but I still figured this would be posted somewhere. Wake stock has bene officially cancelled. The biggest wakeboard festival in Canada will no longer be happening (so far).

Wake stock started in cottage country in Bala, Central Ontario, moved to Wasaga, Toronto Island and Collingwood. As the competition grew to be more of a festival/concert event the venues became bigger. Last year it returned to Bala to return more to its roots, and concentrate more on the wake boarding than the festival.

This is a big hit to Canada wake boarding and Ontario, we have 3 roots stops and 6 cable stops all of which are very low key, mind you growing in size. This along with the bankruptcy of SBC magazine which has been the biggest supporter of canadian action sports, specifically skate, snow and wake, does not shine a bright light on the future of wake boarding.

I have been to many of these stops and have witnessed the young talent we have to offer, i just hope a company or person with a big influence on the sport will step up and bring these back to canada.

Sucks. TWC closed down too, which was an institution. All just shows how hard it is to make a living by something wake-related.
