I haven't had either but my new boat is coming with gatorstep. I have heard from others that gatorstep is better.

I’ve had both and they are both good. Gatorstep has better customer service, I would go with them if they already have a template made.

You can answer your own question by either emailing or calling customer service and see who responds...I'll bet 1000:1 that GatorStep responds and you don't hear a thing from Seadek

This pretty much sums it up I think. You didn't even have to contact them.

Without logos, etc. GatorStep platform kits are $361.

On my boat, my rear swim platform is GatorStep and my cockpit is SeaDek. Both are brushed Shark Gray. You can't tell the difference, nor can I speak to their longevity, but can say that they both look really good.

I went through Transition Watersports for my swim platform. They were great about everything, and I was super happy with my GatorStep.

When I decided to do my cockpit, I needed a template made. I ordered the mylar kit and just about lost it 30 minutes in. I lost all patience and scrapped that idea. I then called Castaway Customs, which is a SeaDek dealer. They came out with their digital machine and had an exact template made. They also cut the SeaDek in their own factory, so I had my SeaDek delivered one week after they took the template.

If you're going through factory SeaDek to get something done, I would advise against it. I've heard good things about factory GatorStep as well.
