That teak is dead sexy. I can't believe more people don't like teak. It is one million times better looking then fiberglass. It looks like you did a 3 part cleaner, brightener and oil. Did you sand it at all? Nice work all around. Get us a pic of what she looks like all put back together.

Looks great so far.

Two things. 1) it looks like with the light bar behind the speakers the lights would shine right in to the back of the speakers. Could be just the angle.
2) What brand of Transom lights did you go with?
Old     (brett33)      Join Date: Apr 2011       06-29-2011, 10:01 AM Reply
brett- yes i sanded it lightly and made sure to get down in between the planks real good.. i think it turned out great

dave- the lights twist 180 degrees to either point to the front/down/ or rear. usually i just angle the middle down or facing the rear, and the outsides point more forward. however, really the only time i use the halogens is when loading or unloading at night. the transom lights are the Lumitec Sea Blaze 3 in green. for $200 a pop a couldnt be happier with how bright they are in the water.

I have a 2003 Moomba (Hull) that looks like your taken apart boat above and will be starting the rebuild soon so I like seeing threads like this!

now im at a stand still in my garage until the wrap gets finished and i can reassemble.. i could have had it done in a month, but the guy doing the design was an idiot. so i waited 3 more weeks and then went to pick it up in Lewisville.
Old     (brett33)      Join Date: Apr 2011       06-29-2011, 11:42 AM Reply
so i go to Lewisville 3 times (which is an hour drive one way for me) only for the wrap guy to tell me he is not going to have it done today. i mean he could have called to tell me it wasnt going to be done instead of me making three 2 hour trips in a lifted Duramax.. the wrap turned out ok.. here are some pics

i vaguely remember seeing this thing on lake austin, maybe i'm crazy, but that's a pretty unique wrap. Either way, great rebuild. 210 is so timless.

Ty- i will def be getting some good water/night shots this weekend. my lake is really dirty and the lights are not near as bright as in a clean water lake. on broken bow over memorial weekend i bet the transom lights put out an easy 50ft halo of light behind the teak deck. it was so dirty man. ill snap a few this weekened, should have them up on monday if not before.

Britt- you live like 15 min from me. get your ass over here and lets get a set in. i just got the 1100# bow triangle and rear wedges.. wake is MACKIN!

UNvisable- def wasnt me on lake austin, ive only been to broken bow and tawakoni with it since i finshed it up. you're right, the old 210 is where its at if you dont want to drop 60k

thanks for all the positive feedback guys. im not sure how long ill keep the wrap. i like it, but im always down for tinkering and changing it up.

Those Lumitecs are great lights for a good value. It's nice to see the prices on transom lights coming down as competition in that market has increased. By the way that Movin Like Berney song is one of my favs now, its hilarious.

It looks like you did most of the labor yourself, but would you be willing to share the costs of the materials and wrap?

Hate- that song is a power jam after a 12 pack!
For $200 a piece, you really cant beat those Lumitecs.

Sure guys, here is a little run down:
I re-powder coated the whole tower and misc pieces, 6 new in boat speakers, 4 new tower speakers, 20' of LED strips, 2 transom lights, painted the dash and throttle panel, 6 LED speaker rings, 3 fat sacs, refinished the teak deck, new bungees and foam pads for the board racks, new Clarion CMD6 headunit, tint, 2 big ass deep cycle batteries plus the yellow top, and the wrap.

I did this whole rebuild for just a bit over 3k.
Obviously the wrap being the largest part at $1,400

Now while it may seem like I got a steal on the wrap (which i kinda did) the guy doing it promised it would be done (design, print, install) in 3 weeks.. after a month I hadn't even seen preliminary artwork or any kind of design. so i basically did the design and made the guy take a chunk of money out of my balance for the design.

One piece of advice... Hi-tech Wraps in Lewisville, TX ain't so "Hi-tech"

Talked to a WS rep today and I'm going to be upgrading my tower setup and def adding a WS420. I'm thinking about going with a single pro485 and a pair of pro80s, seeing how i don't think a pair of 485s will fit and i don't really care to spend the extra money on the REVs. Any ideas?
Old     (willrice)      Join Date: Feb 2010       07-12-2011, 1:34 PM Reply
Two 485s will fit. I've seen it done on someone's 210 (actually a super sport with New Dimensions Tower) on planetnautique.com. Two 485s will be cheaper to amp correctly and should be about the same or cheaper in price to one 485 and two 80s.
Old     (brett33)      Join Date: Apr 2011       07-12-2011, 2:36 PM Reply
What would I need? A single Syn4 to run the two 485s?
Old     (UNvisible)      Join Date: May 2010       07-12-2011, 5:34 PM Reply
485's will fit on your tower no problem. yes you need a syn 4, or if you want to go balls out, a syn2 to each pod.

Old     (doc1)      Join Date: May 2011       07-12-2011, 5:40 PM Reply
No offense but nice clean install there! NOT. Two 485's is the way to go, although the Pro80's are nice if you are at a cove you can turn them outwards.

Thanks UN. My buddy has seen your boat out on Austin a few times and says it's ridiculously loud.

I mean (4) 485s does kinda say,"I like to party!"

would a bridged Syn4 be enough to rock it? im really not down with dropping the coin on the pair of syn2s right now, maybe eventually.
Old     (UNvisible)      Join Date: May 2010       07-14-2011, 7:42 AM Reply
i run a bridged syn 4 to my 485's and they sound great.

Scored a pair of 485's this weekend. All i can say is MAJOR upgrade from the p.o.s. Fusions.
