Need to replace the speaker wire in my tower due to corrosion as well as upgrading to rev 8's and will be relocating from previous spots. Currently speaker wire is 14ga. I don't plan to ever go any larger than the rev 8's. Should I rewire with 14ga or would there be any benefit of going to 12ga?

14awg should be fine. Remember, the thicker the wire the harder it will be to fish up there.
