How many people can you fit in your boat?
Old     (polarbill)      Join Date: Jun 2003       10-10-2008, 4:20 PM Reply
I have had 12 in my 2000 Mobius V. I had 10 in my Cal-Air direct drive, 8 in my 87 nautique 2001 and 12 on my dad's 84 Mastercraft.

My buddy has a X45 and we had 22 or 24 on it this summer.

Vertically or horizontally?

I once took 17 (including me) in my VLX from the dock to a cove in Havasu. Luckily (for many reasons), we had alot of 100 lb. passengers!

Rated for 14, but 11 adults is a good fit for a day on the water.

Found this picture on Tige owners of one of Nick Weinacker's clinics in his RZ4. Looks like a lot of future shredders had a lot of fun.

15 in our '07 Mobius LSV, but 6 were kids under 12. Still... not overly crowded, and EVERYONE had a blast that weekend on the delta!!!

The most I've had in mine is 11 and there was still room. Now some of those were kids but I'm not sure if they take up more room or less.

I can legally hold 15 in my RZ2!!! I have actually had 6 girlfriends in just the bow of my boat!!!
Old     (fordmxracer)      Join Date: Dec 2007       10-11-2008, 9:21 AM Reply
One of the downfalls of an i/o is legally I can only hold 8 and I have a 21 footer. then again you start packin in the people, and ur riding time seems to dwindle.

the most weve done in the 18 foot sea ray is 9 people plus me riding, its rated for 8

A few years back up at my lake a guy had 16 people in his MC DD open bow (I think it was a 205?). He ended up taking water over the bow swamping it then it rolled. I might have a few pics of it when they were trying to fish it out of the lake.

theres always someone to hate on my red swim step...

Colin, I won't hate on the red platform, but why is there no High School Strange on that boat? You need to start inviting the girls at your school out.

Yeah no crap nothing but sausage! The red swim step is curious though.

Old     (themxercr85)      Join Date: Jul 2007       10-12-2008, 11:27 PM Reply
Tell me about it! this was in lake chelan and it was empty! we normally go early august this was mid july and we snatched every piece 'a taco we could! I managed to spit enough game and get 5 sausage replacements, we were like vultures! Im pretty sure in this pic there are 2 or 3 girls behind the guys because this is what followed shortly after this picUpload

ha! 2 girls! see, Im workin on it guys, Its a little hard in highschool separating the girls that only call you when your boats in the water from the girls that call you all the time including when your boats in the water.

I did a standing room only set on our private lake with 19 people in the boat + the stock ballast (about 1000lbs) + the Fly High System (2500lbs). The X-Star wake was ginormous.

8 on the 88 with full sacks is a bit cramped, but the wake is nice

Legally 6 on a 2001, but 5 is really the most that it's comfortable (which works out well because there are 4 in our family).

Had 11 peeps plus the biggest cooler ever from Costco stocked full in my old 2001 once. Scary ride to say the least

I have heard that if your boat is 21ft or longer there is no limit to how many people as long as you have safty gear and they all fit in the boat safe. Is there any truth to this?
Old     (rarasaurus)      Join Date: Apr 2008       11-06-2008, 9:15 AM Reply
^ No it is not a boat has a weight capacity. Technically i think the most for a 21ft boat is 13 or 14.
Old     (salty87)      Join Date: Jul 2002       11-06-2008, 9:27 AM Reply
capacity stickers aren't required over 21' i think. if you have a sticker and you're over 21', the sticker still applies. my 23' has a sticker.
Old     (rallyart)      Join Date: Nov 2006       11-06-2008, 9:29 AM Reply
Scooter, they capacity plate is not a requirement on larger boats. They basically classify them as yachts and its up to the skipper to decide if they are overloaded because if you're driving a bigger boat you must be more knowledgeable.
The boat is not safe if it's overloaded and you get more personal liability if you overload it. If you've got a 21' boat and you've got 2400 lb including gear, people, fuel, and ballast on board you are probably pretty at or over what would be a capacity weight. (not that anyone here puts in more than that)
