I don't know if this is right, but it is how I learned. Carve out to the flats. Let your board come off edge so that it is flat. Then with your back foot push/kick down the tail. This will cause your nose to come up, so bring your front leg up, knee to chest, and then your back leg. Once the board is up in the air, push both legs down and land on the board. Hope this wasn't too confusing.

basically what aaron said. just put your rear foot on the tail and you lead foot towards the middle of the skate, then just kinda bounce and snap your back foot down hard. simutaneously let your weight off bothe feet and bring your knees up leveling the board off flat then try to land level to make riding out easier
