I have a buddy that just purchased a 2015 X30 and he needs help setting up for surf. He has the stock ballast. We thought we could just fill it up and hit a switch and it would be fine. Doesn't seem to be that great so I'm assuming we are doing some thing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Weight, speed, etc...

If the dealer or the owner never upgraded the rear bags, that is the issue. The X30 only comes from the factory with 410# bags in the rear. The extra #680 will make a ton of difference.

He will need 4 of these..

Two of these...

Then you will have to go into the touch screen and adjust the run time to roughly 11:30 on the port and starboard pumps to take advantage of the added capacity.

You might also bump the speed town .2 - .4 mph.

Good information all the way around here. I find the X10 throws a better wake, but that is just my opinion. You will need to sink more of the hull than just factory set up.

I would start with Andy's suggestion, then you can tweak with bits and pieces from the info Bill sent over. These go from minimal to extensive mods.

Sacs and fittings are pretty standard and widely available in the DFW area, not too sure about further east your way. Easily available on line as well. I could drop ship them to you, but there are plenty of online retailers that offer free shipping.

chaos...im the exact opposite. i demo'd the x10 and x30 back to back the same day. i much preffered the x30. both were completely stock with just the 400lb sacks in locker. so im sure the 750s(and possibly some lead) would make a big difference. neither were as nice as my heavy weighted and listed MB...but the wave was really great for a non listed boat. just not sure i want to spend another 30-40k for that luxury .....still debating it though haha

The 30 throws a better surf wake than the 10:
