I remember back in mid 2000's DVS,REEF, and a few companies were making wakeskate specific shoes. Who is making them now?

How does a wake-skate specific shoe differ from other shoes? For instance, I'd imagine a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor's would work perfectly. What would a DVS sandbar have that the chucks wouldn't?

Thin skate shoes are all you need.
The advantages that wakeskate specific shoes had were that they dried faster and didnt get as crusty from the constant soaking and drying. But now Teva is the only one making wakeskate specific shoes. Most wakeskaters don't care. Nike SBs seem to be the most popular brand of shoes to wakeskate in now. Especially the Kostons

I have heard nike 6.0s are good shoes for skating. You just have to drill holes in the bottoms of them to let the water drip out.
