Great feedback guys. Here are some answers to the questions above:

The boardshorts are made from 100% quick-dry supersuede microfiber. They are not stretch material. If you own another pair of CIRE boardshorts, they will be the exact same fit and cut as the rest of our line.

The sizes will be 30, 32, 34, 36, 38. If you are in between sizes like a 33, go up to the next size (34) and use the drawcord to pull them tight.

Here is the length based on waist size:
W30/ 23"
W32/ 23.5"
W34/ 24"
W36/ 24.5"
W38/ 25"

Sorry guys, no belts or belt loops.

See…I’m not the only one here who likes belt loops. I’m willing to bet if you offer boardshorts with belt loops and boardshorts without, a lot more of the belt loop versions would sell than the non-belt loop version. I can tell you I know a lot of people buy boardshorts from Ten-80 not necessarily because they like Ten-80 the best, but because they’re the only company that offers belt loops on boardshorts. (not knocking ten-80, I like a lot of their stuff)

Being innovative never hurt anyone, and it’s certainly not hurting Ten-80

Oh man I thought the belt loop thing was a joke. What's the point? I would never want to wear a belt with trunks as it seems like it would get in the way.

Is it a style thing or something?

Dave,
Are these going to be a one time order or, are these going to be available year round in your store?

This is the first year we're doing boardshorts, so I'm not positive what the reaction will be. Threads like this help, but it's always tough to figure out how much to order, especially since the lead time on these is a few months. So we're not going to order a huge amount, but if it goes well, we'll order more for 2011.

However, I will have them up on our site for purchase this week, so if you're concerned about nabbing a pair, you can buy them in advance.

I like both pairs, and I might buy one, even if they are for men.

Are these board shorts a simular fit around the waist as billabong. Because i take a 34 in billabong shorts

Yes, they fit true to size. If you wear a 34 then you would order a 34 in these also.

thanks again for thinking about big boys, no 40 or 42 sizes im just asking CIRE since 2 years to add this to their line up, and im sure a couple of big boys would buy them. bad news

Eric - Do you guys still use the same snaps from a couple of years ago? I LOVE my Cire's but that is my only complaint. The fly snaps aren't robust enough and don't ever stay snapped...especially on my looser fitting pair.
Old     (nuckledragger)      Join Date: Jun 2004       12-10-2009, 12:10 PM Reply
Eubanks,
We changed to a different snap after that issue came up and we haven't had any problems since then.
I will send you a replacement pair from the 2010 line if you tell me which ones you want. You won't have any problems with the new ones.

Eric - Man, that is extremely generous of you! I love the ones I have...just wish I could figure out a way to repair them.

I will send you a PM. Thanks for your awesome offer!

the belt loop thing is not actually that crazy. Im one of those that fall in between 34 and 32 its always been a hassle finding good fitting boardies. The whole belt thing takes care of that.

Having said that I tried Jeremy's tip on lacing through the 2 holes that helped a lot bud, so thanks for that!

how about some size 40's??
Old     (wakeworld)      Join Date: Jan 1997       12-13-2009, 8:49 PM Reply
Sorry we don't have anything bigger than 38, but we partnered with Cire to do these shorts and they don't make a size 40 for their shorts. We just went with the sizes that were available.
