You could probably rent the tool to do the leak down. it will tell you if you have rings or piston problem, valve leakage, head gasket or cam lobe worn. Also, whats the compression on the other 7 holes? If they are all around 100psi, the whole engine is tired, so no need to think about addressing low compression on one cylinder. If they are like 200psi each, with one at 50, you have a good engine with one cylinder with an issue. worth digging deeper.
