Just curious if anyone has a recommendation for nice in-boat 6.5" speakers for my mom's pontoon boat. I assume the go to choice it wetsounds, any other good options out there, not sure if she'll want to pony up for wetsounds.

.... ideally these would just be powered via the head unit

Kicker does make great KM series marine speakers, but Rockford and Kool-Aid do Punch.

Polk db651s are pretty good and inexpensive. You can usually get a pair for around $65.

I bought the Alpine marine 6.5 for 62.00 per pair on eBay. They sound pretty decent.

I would put db651 speakers. They will go on sale on amazon for under $40 a pair. Buy an extra pair so you have a spare on hand.

I've had them in my boat for many years and they still sound great!

She needs 32 pairs of Rev 10's. Can't hear unless you have that, man.

The Fosgates are without peer in the price group.

Another vote for the polk db651. Instant upgrade of my 6 cabin speakers and I don't even have an amp to them yet. About $65 a pair on amazon.

I'm running 2 pairs of the new km8s on a kicker 450.2 amp I had laying around, in my pontoon. They sound pretty damn good IMO. Even on the sandbar and in the water out around the boat it's to loud to comfortably talk when it's all the way up.
