Malibu VLX and SAN 210 or other

1) What are the differences in dimensions for the main seating area ?

2) How do the wakes compare?

3) What years did malibus have better reliability?

When did the 2000+ SAN get a bigger main seating area?


Looking to go from a Sport nautique to a V-drive and want very comfortable seating and an easier wake to jump with soft landings for w/w jumps.
Something reliable, easy on gas and not requiring a ton of weight. Nothing newer than a 2007. Probably can only afford 2004 or under.

If you want soft landings look somewhere else than the SAN 210. That wake is legendary, but is known to be steep and tough on the knees. Some refer to it as hitting a curb, boots you straight up. You can mellow it some people say with weight balance, but its still going to be one of the steepest wakes out there. If a priority is a more rampy wake with softer landings look elsewhere. The VLX is going to be more mellow and rampy. Malibu's are known to be pretty reliable boats. But people treat boats in every which way, so knowing what you are looking at is going to be the key. If you don't know what your looking at, paying for a professional is worth every dollar.

Had both boats, 2009 VLX & 2010 210 SAN. VLX is much roomier, and handles very well, plus has more storage. Wakeboard wake is very nice (for my intermediate needs), and surf wake is good (after extra weight).

210 is more rampy wake for wakeboarding, and a little easier on surf setup (with extra weight also like VLX)....

Reliability was very good for both.

If $$$ the same, VLX wins just with Interior room and Storage.
