Guys, I had a chance to take the boat out this weekend with the new platform on it and snap a few pictures. Keep in mind that these were taken with my iphone as I was trying to drive the boat. We were going 10.6 mph. I had the wedge down, the front ballast full, the surf side ballast fullish (factory + about 700lbs), and just me in the boat driving. Later, we filled the center ballast (500lbs) and added 5 people on the surf side in the cabin area - with the extra weight, the wave was about 30-40% taller and clean. It seems like every time I see a picture of a surf wave, it is taken from the perspective of the platform with tons of extra weight. Obviously, these pictures do not fit that mold. However, I will try provide more photos soon taken with more weight in the boat and from the platform.
What I think these pictures confirm is that, with not an absolute ton of weight, the A22 produces a nice, clean wave.

Wake looks really good...with a little more speed I'm sure you could keep it clean even further back as well.

Wake looks very close to my wake without the platform. The shape of the Axis hull seems to make a double lip on the wake. We ride at 11.5mph. It's nice to see that the new platform is working out great. Keep us up to date if and when you find out when the 2012 platform can be ordered. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukZei...e_gdata_player

That's a very nice surf wake, I have heard many good things about Axis, but I heard from one person that the boat didn't handle rough water well? What experience do you have in rough water?

That is not stock ballast. The plug n play bags were filled. I think my A22 handles rough water just fine. I boat on Chickamauga lake. I"m not sure how that compares to where other's ride, but it can get choppy. Let's put it this way, I've never been concerned with hitting a huge double up or with taking my boat out into the channel on a windy day.
Robert - my new boat will have the same platform. It was changed in 2012. I was lucky enough to score one for my '11, which is how I got pictures of the wave with the new platform.

sask, we put the first 10 break in hours on our A22 last summer in Lake Havasu, AZ. Its a big lakes and gets really choppy. we had it out on wind chop that was just barely white-capping. solid boat, solid tower, took the chop great, a lot better than my tire 2200v (older boat 1998 and narrower beam, if that matters).

Awesome, I love the look of the Axis and the riding focus, I have heard great things about the surf and wakeboard wakes. I will definitely be testing them out when we are ready to buy.
