My neighbor, a Conservation Police officer, and I were talking one night about wakeboarding and such and I told him that we'd been doing quite a bit of surfing...he had never heard or seen it. I'd done some research on the IL state laws and there are no specific rules against it, however there is a reckless driving rule that he said they can wright a ticket for just about anything. I told him that if done safely (DD/VD only, don't throw rollers into unsuspecting john boats, etc), surfing is probably the safest behind the boat watersport there is.

He said that if I wanted to put on a demo for the local cop's, he would arrange it as an educational seminar and demonstration. Not that we do anything wrong or unsafe, but I have no desire to attract the cop's attention to our boat anymore than the next guy, and there are a lot of wakeboarders that come So. Il from other areas due to our proximity to St. Louis and the college. Also I'd like to get the local cop's buy-in so to speak. I'd like to put together a ppt hand out and give out CD's with some video of people that are pretty good ( I can surf, but that's about it).

So my question is, can you all give me ideas to point out, links to litature and video's, etc. to include on my handout and CD's? Thanks for your help in advance.

Wow, hadn't seen that site before. That is perfect! If anyone else has anything they'd like to add, let me know.
