Are the ronix boards with the slider base typically slower than the standard base boards? Opinions, thoughts?

No, they're not -- you'd get better feedback if you posted in the General Wakeboard forum instead of Boats.

Absolutely no measurable difference on the water. If there is ever any situation that you might ever get in where you will be hitting a rail, kicker, dock, etc, go with the Sintered base. It is always worth the couple of extra bucks.
