I'm starting to shop for a newer boat and with limited garage width, I want to have a trailer that is close to the DHM trailer for my SAN (99.5"). I'm ok with going to 102" wide, but I know guide poles for wider beam boats are usually outside of that.

For those of you who have done it, how easy is it to remove the guide poles for garage storage? Quick and painless, or pain in the a**? What boat/trailer combo do you have?

For our next boat, I'm looking at something like a 2006/7 V215, VRide, etc.

Depends on the condition of the trailer, but if it's in good shape and not rusted out/neglected its simple. Mine are just a cotter pin you pull off, then pull the pole out of the trailer. Takes a matter of seconds. That's on a Boatmate trailer.

2002 Tige 20V with Extreme Trailer. Metal part of the guide pole is secured with a set screw, fairly simple removal.

I've got a VM trailer and the guide poles are held in by one bolt each. Take about 1 minute to remove if you wanted to.
