Am I the only one that thinks this was just an off-axis spin? To b an invert, your feet have to go above your head. I couldn't tell that his feet did. MAYBE they just did and I just can't tell. But even then it's really still not what people generally think of when they think flip or invert.


Judging by the comments below the video, it seems like I'm the only one that thought this though. I'm definitely not trying to take away from the impressiveness of the feat. It's got to take a crazy amount of skills. I just think he did a very impressive looking 360, or 540, depending on if surfing counts partially spinning in water.

off axis spin in my book, although his feet went out the back and almost even with his shoulders, didn't go over his head. snowboarders get pretty loose with their off axis spins vs flips. you'll notice they called it a rodeo (backside spin + flip on snow), still a very loose application of a legit trick IMO.

Off Axis spin for sure and very impressive but not a flip* IMO
