Well the wind stayed away so even though it was freezing we went for one last ride today. Wtare was high 40's, so was the air. I decided to take some pics while riding. They turned out pretty good. here are a few. The view from these pictures is one of my favorites! I am really going to miss the moomba. 6 long months to wait for spring.

Are those latex hospital gloves you're using?

Haha, HH if I can find a way to make it down to Florida this year to a camp (my dream) I will, butif not we have 6 months of cold to look forward too. There is snowboarding though.

Yup, Latex rubber gloves. I have tried all kinds of waterski and wakeboard gloves and nothing works better IMO then the heavy duty Latex gloves. The are waterproof so they keep your hands dry, ultra thin and cheap. If you tuck them under your dru suit seals, your hands stay dry and they actually have some grip too.

I tell you, when the water is in the 40's, face plants are an eye opening experience.

76? At the peak of summer when the air was 95 degrees this summer, the BEST our lake made it to was 68 or so. 76 would be like bath tub water up here!

I agree with the faceplants on cold water.. its seems to be a lot harder on the face when the water is that cold..

I don't ride in water under 70 anymore. I get no personal satisfaction from riding in cold water. Falls hurt worse, i can't ollie as high, it's tougher on your knees 10 fold, i never try a new trick, and pick up bad habits on my old ones, and i hate how cold your face and hands get. The one person who blows my mind is Nick Davies. He doesn't even wear a wetsuit when the water is freezing. I rode with him once at odub in some COLD water, I had a 3/2 full suit on, and quit after two laps. He sessioned the place as if it were 90 degrees out for probably two hours, and didn't even look cold. And for those of you that ride odub, you know how cold that water gets. Definitely drops into the low 50s possibly high 40s during a long cold front.
