WOW, my boat sucked down gas just going from blue oaks camp area to the moccasson area. it took almost half a tank, thats cruising at 25 mph with only 3 adults and 2 kids. That did not seem right. I am now running the 911 and understand it would eat just a bit more in gas but this doesnt seem right does it?

at 22 mphs rpms were about 3000, don't remember at 25 what they were. my buddy who we were tailing (with the stock prop on his 215)only used a quarter of tank.

That's 14 miles. Are you sure it started out completely full. That is some crazy high consumption.

it went from 3/4 full to 1/4 full, I also noticed the previous day it seemed to be be overly thirsty! On our small lake in Wa we never had to travel on the water to ride, just launch and go. tThis is the first time the 911 we did this much traveling.

Kenny, are you sure that you gas guage is accurate I know on my sanger its always bouncing around all over the place.. one minute its empty, the next its full, then half.. I know that the guages arent too accurate..

I was only looking at the readings while in idle.

That doesn't seem right at all. I would check it when you fill back up. My gauge will stay near full for a while, then drop fairly quick to 1/4. When it drops below 1/4, I sill have 15 or so gallons left.

14 miles @ 22 mph should take you about 40 mins to get up there, or 35 at 25 mph. I burn about 5.5-6 gph loaded with the 911, so that would be 4-5 gallons tops.

it take about 40 mins to get there. It does normally take some time to drop from full, but from 3/4 to 1/4 should be more than 6 gallons.

I agree with Gas gauges being horribly in-accurate. The only real measure would be to fill up, drive it and fill up to see. With my 35 gallon tank if I am reading 1/2 a tank I usually put in about 10-12 gallons.

I would fill up and make sure you used what you think you did. The gauge typically reads a straightline depth, and does not take into account the shape of the tank. My guess is your tank is wider at the bottom and you have alot more than 1/4 left. My tank is 30 gallons and goes quickly to 1/4 reading, but when I got to fill it up, it only takes about 14-15 gallons.

Not saying this is Kenny's issue, but V-drive gas gauges never work well. The tanks are in the belly, and are wide and flat. You only have about 6" of depth to measure, and it's at the back of the tank so the attitude of the hull affects it too. DD's are much better.

you going back? Are you going to Moccassan point? That is a much better place, you are 500 meters to wake from launch. Looking to go there soon.

We didnt get to see Moccasin camping area, it it close to the water, steep, man blue oaks was steep as hell! We did find the most northern arm and noticed it has the best water for riding but was a no ski zone!!
