Guys,
looking a doing a houseboat trip over Labor Day weekend to either Shasta or Trinity. I've been to Shasta a bunch and love it but how does it compare to Trinity?
Thanks!

Shasta is much busier than Trinity. It's also easier to get to because of its proximity to I-5. Trinity is another hour and a half up the hill from Redding via CA-299/CA-3 and an additional 1000 ft of elevation. However, the extra drive is worth it IMO. We did a houseboat trip to Trinity several years ago and it was great, especially during the week. Very calm water, albeit a bit colder than Shasta. The weekend wasn't even that crowded. Labor Day may be an exception, but I don't think you can go wrong with Trinity. Enjoy your trip...

Shasta is FULL right now so makes me think the waterfalls are going so that would be my deciding factor both lakes are great. I personally like Trinity better. But thats because its a bit slower and less people. But you may be up for some adventrues

If you know where to find this rope swing, it's in effect as well.
