Ok so I rode a trip last season and loved it, I bought the ronix kai mana set up and just don't like it. It's slow and all but it's not really what I have a problem with. It's way to grippy and I can't break it loose easily and mess around on it like I could my trip.
Also this sounds crazy but I've lost a foot off my ollie on the mana and I don't even know whats up with that especially with adam errington ollieing higher than anyone.
So to confirm my difficulties I hopped on the trip today and had a blast, such a fun loose shape and my ollie has never been higher.

So instead of making the logical decision to get a new trip (I outgrew mine) I wanna go with cwb. I rode my friends 09 faction bindings the other day and I loved them, I missed the open toe feeling and they were super comfortable and were so easy to get on and off. So I'm looking at two boards in the cwb line that might be comparable or a nice transition from the trip which are the faction and the kink.
I've ridden last years kink and I liked it a lot, It felt a lot like the trip in my opinion and was a fun and pretty loose shape.
I wanna also consider the faction though as it is a continuous rocker and the fins look about the same size and placement as the trip. The only problem I see with faction is the 138 seems too small but the 144 just seems massive.

So that was kind of rambly but I would appreciate any opinions on the matter especially those of you with experience with two of the boards mentioned above.

Ok here goes: First off, I haven't riddent the 09 Kink, but have heard nothing but great things about it. I do however ride the 09 Faction 44, and it is nothing short of awesome. I rode the 38 Faction for a good part of last year and the year prior, and decided to go for the bigger board simply because it's bigger, I land softer. I also think that it does pop more as well. It is VERY easy to ride. Now I ride with the small Absolute fins (.5 I think) and it is loose enough to do surface anything, but it rails when you want it too. For reference, I'm 6' and weigh 185, and rode the 38 for a year and half with no issues. The 44 is just that much better.

Ride them both, and make the choice for yourself. Good luck.

Awesome thanks for the input. I'm still on the fence about which one to get but I'm guessing the faction would ride a lot more like the trip.

Does anybody know if those new slidable fins on the kink are the same size as the molded fins from last year?

i know you said CWB but the lyman is really easy to break loose, cuts quite a bit like the trip. and the tip and tail have a fair amount of flex so its pretty easy to ollie

the trip is continuous as is the faction. the kink is subtle 3 stage. this feature too ought to make the faction more like the trip. but if you think you want just a little bit more aggressive pop then maybe the kink... or lyman as david mentioned would be good.

lyman used to ride the trip before he got his own board and used many of the trip's features in his own board
