Donner Lake

So we are going to Tahoe for a week or so and I know that Lake Tahoe is horrible for riding on, but I have heard that Donner is a good spot? Is this true? Can anyone please give me some info on it, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

We just finished shooting for "The Chick Flick" on Donner Lake. The early mornings are good, a few hardcore waterskiiers you might piss off. By 10 AM there were 5 boats on the lake. It's a small body of water maybe a couple of miles long so it got pretty rolley. Evenings were windy. great of a lake. Over all, it wasn't that great of a lake, but better than Tahoe.

Been to Donner a 4-5 times and unless you are a early morning person, it's better to go a little farther down 80 to Boca or Stampede where it's less chop late morning early afternoon.

donner is nice but like everyone is saying you gotta go early cus it gets crowded or windy later in the day. Ron has it right. keep goin down the road to Boca and Stampede and you will find good water... or at least i usually do.

My buddy works in Incline Village with Darin Shapiro...the engineer. Depends on your definition of "home" lake as I thought Cobe has lived 3000+ miles southeast of Donner for quite some time.

oh well on his episode of firsthand theres a set in there where hes at donner at his parents house (the first place he ever wakeboarded) so in a sense you could call it his home lake. hah. check that out. its like 2 or 3 bucks on itunes
