Hey guys I need some help/advice. I had arthoscopic surgery on my knee in which they removed half my ACL about a month and a half ago. I do the olyptical pretty much 4 times a week for at least 20 minutes a day, I haven't tried wakeboarding yet, I have however wakesurfed with no difficulties and was wondering if anyone knew any other excercises I could do to get back on the water sooner considering I'm leaving on the 17th to go on a houseboating trip for a week and would love to get back on the board. Any advice would be great! Thanks guys

I've had ACL surgery, and in all my knee research, I've never heard of surgery to remove half an ACL. Oh well, build those hammies and quads, and work on your proprioception (your brain knowing what your limbs are doing) by doing plyometric exercises. ie jumping forward/ backward, side to side etc on a raised surface. I personally would get a brace, but please ask your doctor's advice about it. There are many opinions and experiences with braces.

I second everything Cosmo said. Its strange they removed part of your ACL, was there a reason given?

Well theres a long story behind it but I'll try to sum it up. When I first had my injusry they thought it was my meniscus because all the signs pointed to it such as not being able to fully straighten my knee etc. but then when I had the MRI the doc saw that my meniscus was completly fine but he couldn't find my ACL anywhere on the MRI so when I went in for my surgery he said that half my ACL was completly flat and looked like a mop, so he removed it in hopes that I would be able to fully extend my leg and get along fine without it. So far it hasn't given me any problems besides completly giving out on me causing me to fall to the ground. I'm going back in for a check up soon in hopes of not hearing that I have to have reconstructive surgery. Basically thats whats going on..
