MSRP: $77,619.00 and then add some options?

theyre kidding right? I guess if they can get it why not charge it?

so it will sell for $70K plus options and tax? $80K for a wakeboat, who would have thought a 21.5' boat would be this much.

Can you sleep on it and does it have a bathroom as well?

close to 80 otd? for some silver flake?

Congrats to the guys who get one you are definitely pimps.

"honey i just got a new wsvlx se, and it was only 90K otd", "wtf did you just say?"

Okay I'm definately not up to speed on the new malibus how does a VLX have an MSRP of $54,603 and a VLX SE have an MSRP of $77,619. I don't know about you but I could get alot more for $23,016 than a couple of letters and some fancy paint.

I am trying to figure out how my 06 v-Ride went from an MSRP of $39995 to this years version at almost $48k MSRP??? Glad I bought when I did or else the "value edition" would be out of my league. I can't really see any substantial upgrades that come standard to justify the increase.

Canadian prices?
Old     (lionel)      Join Date: Nov 2005       10-10-2006, 11:52 AM Reply
I am guessing it will come with a lot of options for that price. I could be wrong, I noticed it looks like it comes standard with the hammerhead even though they list stock power at 320 hp?

I agree, those prices are way outa wack. 9k is awful big jump on the ride series in a year.

Man, you really have to have some bank to get a boat in 2007-2008 unless its a 15 yr financing thing huh?

Maybe they will be 100K in 5 years or less for a new top of the line wakeboat?

Where is the ISpec??? No Boat Designer For 07'?

The boat's MSRP includes the Hammerhead and a super fancy Extreme Trailer plus a bunch of other things that are standard but options on all other non Silver edition boats. The difference between the Silver Ed. and a normal VLX (optioned out as similiar as possible) is about $3,500 (this is a quick estimate). The Silver Edition has some things on it that you can't get on any other 21.5' VLX so it's a little hard to compare and would probably be less of a difference than $3,500.
It has an 8 speaker system with the sub and 3 remotes in the boat and I know this is not available on other 21.5' models.
Hope this helps settle some of your nerves. It's MSRP too, key word being "SUGGESTED".

Ispec should be up soon, hopefully by the end of the day.

slipknot, there's banks that will do 20 year terms on a loan over 50k now and MasterCraft has an over 100k wakeboat already. It's a bit freaky non the less, but inboard boat sales keep growing. Who knows what it will be like in 5 years.
Old     (jon4pres)      Join Date: May 2004       10-10-2006, 2:11 PM Reply
When the "budget boat" has a suggested retail close to 50k that is retarded.
Mastercrafts boat is insanely priced but it is also a 28 ft boat with twin motors.

So if that is suggested then what can someone expect to pay??

And just because you can finance your payments down to $50.00 a month you still have to pay for it plus then you have to pay 3x the amount of the boat in interest.

The vRide will be nationally advertised at $40,650. They are posting a msrp comparable to the rest of the lineup and advertising a discounted price as it is their bargain boat. So rather than having the ride series with almost no discount the dealers can price the boat like a vlx and discount it. My friend just got one for around $44 with a sub, wet sound pro 80's, etc. I just got a wake 23 in the 60's loaded except for the stereo.

Don't know if anyone else noticed, but I can't figure out why they made the vtx with a diamond hull? I would have thought that they could have just modified one of the wake hulls.

I was looking at getting a VLX this past summer. Decided to wait and see what the 07s were like. Now I see the base price jumped 5k and not even counting the options. Looks like the VRide might be my choice...o wait thats 50k too...!?! Bad idea Malibu.
Old     (cbrown)      Join Date: Jan 2004       10-11-2006, 12:09 AM Reply
Nicholas, take a look at Wkerat's post. The Vride went up 650 whole dollars. The MSRP on the vride has always been close to 50k the consumer was never told that though.

As far as the SE Vlx, it comes standard with the 383 HH motor, eight speakers in the boat with sub and amps powering it all of it as well as multiple remotes, Limited edition carpet vinyl and a lot of other accessories. Also it includes a trailer that is fully decked for a trailer, all led lights, SS fenders big wheels etc. Are these things necessary, no but is a limited edition boat so it needs to stand out.

All that money for the VLX se doesn't even buy you a tower. What a great standard wakeboat. Atleast it's gotta a nice stereo standard.

Tower
Malibu Illusion X - optional
Titan III - optional

I believe they state optional on both because you can have either or for no price difference. Just a thought.

So why would Malibu post inflated msrps on their website. Don t you think people are going to check out the website and say that there is no way I can afford a 50k v-ride and then move on to the next boat on their wish list.

that is a good point jon. i'm sure a lot of people cross off a lot of different models based off MSRPs, I know I did.

Anyone who bases their buying decisions on the MSRP is not a savvy buyer...everthing has an MSRP price and the actual price. Go talk to a dealer and work out a deal that works. Never pay MSRP.
Old     (evil0ne)      Join Date: Sep 2006       10-11-2006, 10:07 AM Reply
Mike, you're right, but some people use it as a guide to the actual price.

I agree, those MSRP's are ugly. I think people do get turned off by it. I know I would.

Check out this link from themalibucrew. Amy from Malibu came on to say they messed up on some of the msrps.

No Ispec 07 yet. I really like to play with the color combos. I like how the sunsport is shown with a tower. Who are we marketing to anyway?

Pricing is way off for ’07--a penny over $50k exceeds my marginal utility! I’m seriously considering Centurion and Sanger for my next boat.

we just ordered a 07 v-ride

im in australia though so i cant compare the prices but

it was $70,000 to $75,000 australian dollars optioned up and the power wedge, if this helps

OK....now it makes more sense. Malibu had a typo on their Ride series boats MSRP's. They only actually went up less that 1k. It is fixed now.
