What ups. I try and get out there as much as possible. I am Usually bumming rides on the weekends from Gary, Tim and/or Mark. Live in SJ but prefer the delta and will happily make the commute!

Yeah Arun, you better ride this season. He comes out with us last summer and claims he hadn't ridden in months and he tore it up. Stickin everything like he rides every day. See all you guys down there soon.

Arun is famous for that, he sits in the boat telling everyone else how great they are and then goes out and shows them up.

I'll attest to that too. Arun is a natural and looks good with or without practice. Still one of my favorite locals to watch.

Thanks for the kind words guys... These days with the biz and familia it's hard to find the time to ride so when I do ride I get all giddy like a little kid and I think I actually appreciate my time out there and have more fun riding than when I use to ride everyday.

Callen, yes, that sounds fun man. I think Maleah is ready to start riding.

Sounds like Alex will be coming back from Orlando 1st part of June and plans on spending quit a bit of time down in Cali this summer, so I'm signing him in. I know I'm looking forward to seeing old friends at the comps.

So today i was just doing a lil freeriding having a lil fun, managed to showoff to some rednecks driving in a dingy at same speed as us, decided to land a foot or two from them from a indy nosebone. But then right after that a effin sea lion (a biga$$ one too) surfaced and dived.

i was all W T F !?!?!??!!? because we were over by railroad

There was a big guy lurking around old river on Friday as well. Sea Lions are actually pretty common in the area in winter/early spring. It is a trip when they get all the way back up in Discovery Bay.

Hey everyone should go to the Maherwake launch party saturday april 12th at Pee Wee Muldoon's in Brentwood. New local delta company trying to get everyone in the area together to promote the lifestyle and have a good time. Hope to see everyone there!!!!

Yep it's best to avoid them at this time of year, the male Sea Lions are attracted to riders in dry suits and will try to mate with them. Especially ones with long blond hair!Upload

Rich, LOL ! well i guess it's a good thing that i have short brown hair and don't rock the drysuit anymore !

...that would explain all of the middle aged guys floating in the water around ski beach in wet suits and blond wigs...I guess they gotta do something until it is warm enough for the gals to start coming out!

those otters are nasty creatures. they hang out at a couple of my friends houses and make nests under their docks on top of the foam. then they take their fish and eat it on the dock leaving the guts to rot in the sun. i wish they werent federally protected so we could do something about them.

Yup, I pretty much got the worst ear infection ever from the "derty d". So bad I couldnt eat due to jaw pain. I guess I should have not cleaned my ears that day; ear wax is apparently your natural defense for ear infections.

IDK? I think the delta has given me natural immunity to most bacteria! Super Hero Powers! HAHA. After being raised out there and 20+ years of swimming in it I've never gotten anything from it.
Although the majority of my time has been on the south side of the delta, south of Disco bay. I think the water up in stockton is a bit dirtier, from my experience.
Old     (norcalbordr)      Join Date: Feb 2006       04-07-2008, 7:45 AM Reply
Hey Callen, I got your missed call on Saturday night. Then I noticed I had a 2 minute voicemail but I dont' think you realized that your phone was still on. I could hear you and another guy talking, plus I think I heard Heather a few times with the music bumping in the background. Did you ride at all over the weekend? I'm missing out this weekend cuz I'm flying to the East Coast tomorrow night through Sunday. We'll hit it up in the next couple of weeks though.
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       04-07-2008, 8:25 AM Reply
The further you get toward Grant Line the nastier the water is. I'm pretty sure it builds up your immune system though. I've never had a problem with Delta water.

There's no place like home.
Old     (richd)      Join Date: Oct 2003       04-07-2008, 2:25 PM Reply
We had the water tested around Golden Isle (end of Vic) for 3 years 2004-2006 to help support our claim to the county that our cabins were not polluting the Delta. A pro testing company certified to approve well water for drinking and all that kind of stuff did the tests (no we didn't test it by drinking it ourselves and seeing if we got the runs!).

I think there were 4 tests a year over that period at random spots both up and down stream. The company told us the water around there was cleaner then most lakes, it's just full of algae, dirt etc. The fact that it stains your clothes (and boat) brown doesn't mean it's bad for you!

BTW you don't get to the mercury layer in the silt unless you dredge under a certain depth too. This is another one of those environmental concerns that holds them off from doing major levy reworking or digging the main canals deeper for more water flow as well. They stir up a bunch of that and send it to LA and they'll all start glowing down there.

what up, had the crew out earlier today up and down rail roads was standard glass, had the upper part of vics this evening limited but clean in spots, we saw a blue and white 205 xstar busting some skate action and thats it for boats for the day. great session, can it be summer now please..............

Bryan, I think that was Austin (saltsk8) tearing it up we saw him coming in as we were going out.
There were definitely some more boats out at rails roads yesterday. For some reason some people feel like they can ride both ways on the same side even when the other side is perfectly fine gets a little annoying. And i know forsure that group knows.

i dont think we saw you guys out there, like i said we only saw that one other xstar. it must have got crowded when we headed for vics in the evening, and your not the only one that gets p.o. when people got the wrong way. its mainly fisherman this time of year.
