Ok, we have a Bayliner, which I'd rather be behind than nothing (it's my parents boat), and I'm just wondering, is there a prop that will work better for wakeboarding than others..? it's an I/O with a 5.7 V8 Mercruiser.

Find out what pitch the prop that's on it is, and drop a couple inches (or more) in pitch. This will give you more hole shot, but lose a little top end. Or another option is you can put a Merc High Five stainless five blade, somewhat pricey, but should do the trick. Be thankful you have the 5.7, most smaller I/Os have V-6 or even 4 cylinder engines, so you've got a good head start going into it.

This won't have any effect on my wake will it?? Just on the initial pop and it'll lessen the top speed?? and The Merc High Five S.S. it'll do...? And I am! Definitely.. We had a Bayliner back in the day that had a much lesser engine forget he model, but it definitely doesn't have what this does.. Thanks!!
