Over the years my audio system in my boat has been used for R&D and I would just do a quick addition of a particular component quick and dirty. I have two amps, Clarion head unit, HSE proto type volume control, HSE production volume control, EQ, Wetsounds bluetooth and two batteries. Battery 2 powered the two amps and proto type volume control, battery 1 powered the Clarion head unit, HSE production unit, EQ and Wetsounds bluetooth. I had RCA cables running all over the place with unions to quickly add in or take out a component so I decided to rip out all the wiring and start fresh. The Clarion located in the glove box was basically only being used as a switch for remote power to the amps and I had a Clarion remote at the dash for control. I removed head unit and remote and made a custom plate assembly to cover the hole in my dash from the remote with an LED switch and the Wetsounds Bluetooth.
The switch powered by battery 1 is used to power a normally open relay which supplies battery 2 power to turn on amps and all audio components. I removed 8 pairs of RCA cables and now have 2 pairs of higher quality cables. My engine noise over speakers and overall sound of the system is great and very simple now.
