Any advice on the Hyperlite Quad vs the Ronix Power Tail?

I am 6' 4", 240ish, and intermediate. Have a decent wave (2011 mb B52 WB) and am looking for a fun and fast surf style board. Not sure I want to drop the coin on a custom board just yet and found decent deals on these two. The Ronix looks promising but don't know much about the Hyperlite.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I demo'd a quad last year while looking for a new surfboard. I ended up finally going the custom route with a Soulcraft. Really, the cost difference for what you get is worth it. Now, if you can get a deal then it add to the cost spread.

Regardless, I have a 09 22ve that puts up a pretty damn big wave. Being 225lbs myself I could stay in the pocket but I felt like I really had to fight to stay in it and was constantly pumping to get back in. Otherwise, the board was fun and really likes to be moved around and carved. I did find I pearled the board a lot though too. Being 240lbs I think you may have some trouble on the Quad. Being the weight you are once again I think you would benefit from a custom board as you will get better bouncy out of a custom. I bought a 4'10" Blunt Nose Honu and I can tell the difference between the two boards for sure.

As far as the Power Tail. I know quite a few people do like the board but I have no experience with it otherwise.
