Anyone ever try one of these? https://catchsurf.com/collections/beater

They look like they might be fun and a versatile little board to have around for the kids.

They are actually really hard to ride. They are very wide and have no real edge which makes them extremely loose. For light riders they will have very little control, and for heavy riders they will bow and drag.

I live by the beach and I surf waves on a beater board and I surf it behind my boat all the time. It works great, i have a couple other wakesurf boards as well. The beater board definitely rides different but it's still fun. My beater board does have fins, I know some don't,

Are they loose and slippery like Mitch says?
