Water looks beautiful. I bet its a little cold though. Have you considered submitting that to the video battle at alliancewake.com? From what I've seen so far you could be a serious contender.

Great Edit. Lake Michigan water has always impressed me so clean and ocean like without the nasty salt water!

I thought a big part of why lake Michigan was so clean was because of the zebra mussel infestation...? Our neighbors who lived there said that when they were kids the water was like any other lake until the mussels rolled in.

That's some clear water! The swirls coming off the prop @ 1:50 were cool.

Thats the problem in Georgian Bay and area, so I wouldnt be suprised if it were the same for Michigan.

Water looks great! I can imagine its not usually that calm though... Even the inland lakes off of Michigan get churned up like an ocean more often than not!

you would actually be surprised about the water condition, its not as bad as you would think. Depending on the wind you can usually find a calm cove. The real nice part is you never have to worry about other boats, esp. wakeboats. i have yet to see another boat while we are riding, just pure glass as far as you can see!

zebra mussels are filter feeders. They pull in water, and filter out the alge, and plankton. What they spit out is clean water. The problem is that they out compete local fish for the plankton. when the local feeder fish population has no plandton to eat, it is gone so are the sport fish.
With the filtering out of plankton, the sunlight that normaly gets caught up in the primary production of energy in the planktons photosynthsis, now can reach the bottom layers of teh water column. This turns a formerly active mid section of water to a Benethic water enviroment. Meaning, the light reaches the bottom, plants grow and teh ecosystem is changed totaly.
So it is possible that the Mussels may have helped to clean the water. More likely the Clean Water act helped more.
